I'm skint. Really really skint. Today in town I've somehow managed to lose my DS's 2 favourite toys, a Lamaze 'all ears' elephant and a Nuby twister teether rattle, which were fastened together and clipped to his pram. I bought both of these at an out-of-town shopping centre which I can't even afford the train fare to at the minute, no shops in my city sell these (that I know of) even if I had money to buy replacements. DS hasn't realised they're missing yet, but I'm dreading it as he particularly loves that bloody elephant and has had it since he was 6 weeks old. I feel like crying, AIBU?

Aww!

Now where's that other thread saying most people are mean? Not true!

featherbag · 10/05/2012 18:08

Blackholes, I've experienced the 'other' side of MN too, which makes this even mroe lovely. You wouldn't believe the tears I've shed over that bloody elephant today!

Awww, Warren

If you are looking for someone to replace that though, think you might be barking up the wrong tree! But just in case...

I lost £20,000 in the street the other day.

Glad this had a happy ending

Ahh this whole thread makes me feel like crying! Lovely people.

ladymariner · 10/05/2012 19:17

Wow, what a lovely thread...so much kindness. Started off really sad thinking that Op's ds would be heartbroken over the elephant but what a great ending, nice one, people :)))))))

thebody · 10/05/2012 20:01

Lovely.

BehindLockNumberNine · 10/05/2012 20:08

Nice thread, well done to those able to help..

(my dc are well past the lamaze toys and teethers sadly)

OP I do know how you felt though, my dd lost her beloved Woof toy (ELC beige dog toy, bean filled) when she was nearly 3. She sobbed and sobbed and even now, when we look at baby pictures she goes a bit misty eyed (she is nine now)

I keep checking eBay in case one turns up but no luck as yet...

Just an update - I'm on my phone so can't send PMs, will do so to the lovely individuals concerned when I can get on my laptop - DS was reunited with (replacement) Elephant today, and a twisty teether a couple of days ago. I wish I could've shared with you all his little face when I have him 'his' elephant!
