out of the people i know, the working class ones have spotless homes.

the middleclass ones seem alot more messier and nowhere near as spick and span.
they also tend to dress their children in odd socks etc.

anyone else noticed this?

I only know that when I was in drama school, only the very working class and the very posh would eat the lunches cooked in the canteen...the middle class kids wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. That's because the posh kids had all been boarders (fed on shit from a can) in places like Rugby or Bennendon and weren't fussy...and the working class kids were all getting fed there for free.

The middlies went up the road to the organic sandwich shop.

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 19:21

How clean was it? If it was covered in mud & spit def. mc.

FarSideOfFuckingBalloons · 09/05/2012 19:21

2 rooms pickles, and only 23 of you??

You must be mc, we have 22 in only one room, with a bucket outside to pee in.
It's the cleanest bucket you will ever see though

Farside Either working class or so stupidly posh that they didn't give a shite what anyone else thought....something really posh and really wc have in common. Only the middle classes and the working classes who are striving care what anyone else thinks.

WMDinthekitchen · 09/05/2012 19:22

Waves to MadameChinLegs - agree completely, there are just people.

LynetteScavo · 09/05/2012 19:22

Now I understand why SIL lives in such a shit hole.

She is trying to shake off her working class roots. She has two degrees, and lives off benefits, and refuses ever to clean (as far as I can tell!).

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 19:23

Not when our Mabel has the triplets. And she will be out scrubbing that step the very next day.

catgirl1976 · 09/05/2012 19:25

Those people on Life of Grime

How posh must they be!!

FarSideOfFuckingBalloons · 09/05/2012 19:25

Well I'm glad to be a non striving WC then, I couldn't really give a fuck about class.

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 19:25

I've never laughed so much as reading this thread. I'm worried I will wee myself on my nice clean floor.

FarSideOfFuckingBalloons · 09/05/2012 19:25

Sign of the working class pickles, a shiny front step:)

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 19:26

I honestly didn't even realise people put themselves into classes anymore!

FarSideOfFuckingBalloons · 09/05/2012 19:26

What about the hoarder people? They can't clean cos there's no space, as house is full of shit stuff.
What class are they??

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 19:28

What is middle class these days anyway? I thought it was your professionals like doctors solicitors and the like?

God knows what class really is?

I've met some allegedly upper class people who are in fact the trashiest people in the world and some allegedly working class people who are the classiest people

DukeHumfrey · 09/05/2012 19:32

I wouldn't know. I've never lowered myself to enter a working class home.

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 19:34

I'll run an open day for all interested? 10p entry and a bowl of gruel?

HillyWallaby · 09/05/2012 19:34

The Middle Class would appear to be anyone who earns more than NMW, right up to Mr and Mrs Middleton. They can't all be wearing odd socks and neglecting the doorstep, surely?

imnotmymum · 09/05/2012 19:35

Farside I was told once by my DC that being MC is having your kids in music lessons and eating cous cous- not sure if they meant at the same time ??

LineRunner · 09/05/2012 19:37

I just went and looked at my doorstep. There is forlorn old Magnum wrapper stuck to it with dirty rain.

pickles35 · 09/05/2012 19:37

I've eaten couscous! Hurrah! I shall stop scrubbing my step forthwith!

MelodyPondering · 09/05/2012 19:37

Ooh I think i'm middle class, ds2 always has odd socks on, and my house is a shithole.

I've finally made it!
