False eyelashes on the school run?

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 00:38

AIBU to think this is excessive? And when worn in conjunction with 4 inch heels, full fake tan, clothes suitable for a nightclub and hairpieces AIBU to think it's laughably over the top for the school run?

Said woman has told me she gets up at 5am every school day to get ready.

x-posted with OP. No, I wasn't referring to your post, I was referring to Coco's post.

HeartsJandJ · 09/05/2012 12:33

Coco: Shock no seriously Shock Shock Shock

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 12:35

Lyingwitch, as I said, this is a public forum and I am entitled to word my title and post as I see fit. You may consider yourself a pargon of virtue who never utters a negative word but we are all different and to be honest I think you are as bad as you claim I am, as you have made a judgement of me.

I really couldn't care less what you think of me, but you do come across as rather hypocritical.

FUCK'S SAKE!!! YOU DO NOT PUT FUCKING JELLY IN A FUCKING TRIFLE!!!

theodorakis · 09/05/2012 12:37

Poor woman, why judge her and slag her off?

PavlovtheCat · 09/05/2012 12:38

scrambled I would have to get up earlier than 7am if there was zombie attack and I wanted to put my eyelashes etc on. I would probably go for some trendy pumps though rather than heels, so I could run.

TalHotBlond · 09/05/2012 12:38

I put my makeup on in the morning the same as I brush my teeth, takes no time and is part of my daily routine. I throw on a dress and heels the same way others throw on jeans and a t shirt, it doesn't take any extra effort to put something smart on.

titfortat · 09/05/2012 12:38

Al, so you have never judged anyone you have seen in the street? Ever? The OP isn't saying we judge every single person, but there are those with, say, green hair and because that is something I wouldn't do, I would be a bit WTAF??

It doesn't automatically make you a nasty, vile, bullying arse just because you made a judgement. And it most certainly don't mean you are "Going against the sisterhood". That really is far fetched. It isn't just women. I once saw a man with white as you like, long hair in a ponytail, with a black mahoosive beard down to his chest and was a bit Hmm so it isn't just women judging women.

Everyone is different. Everyone has different preferences. What is right for one person, male or female, will be wrong for another and it is normal to judge, silently, in your head.

And to assume that because one has a judgement on another person, means that they don't have opinions on important matters is quite frankly, a shite sweeping judgement you just made there yourself.

LumpyLatimer · 09/05/2012 12:41

Now I've got that out of my system - I can't believe someone can't make a blasted observation about someone without people bursting into tears and running to Mummy.

Anyone who claims not to have made an observation swiftly followed by a judgement on any woman's appearance, ever, has pants that are On Fire and a long wooden nose.

If I saw someone dressed like that on the way to the school run I'd probably think they had no a lot else to think about other than their appearance .

That has fuck all to do with 'the sisterhood' and everything to do with possession of a) 1 x set of functioning eyes and b) 1 x brain with which to process images.

HeartsJandJ · 09/05/2012 12:43

TalHotBlond: I put my makeup on in the morning the same as I brush my teeth

How? I'm not saying you can't but just how?

HeartsJandJ · 09/05/2012 12:45

Ignore that - somehow my brain inserted the word "time" into your sentence. EG I put my make-up on in the morning the same TIME as I brush my teeth"

Blush
theodorakis · 09/05/2012 12:45

It may be human nature to think it by why the Hell post it on a public forum? What do you want to achieve? I have eyelashes, Botox and a Hummer (although thank God don't live in UK) and my self esteem if fine thanks. If I want to look nice, I will. When I was young I used to look at those drab women who thought that children replaced the hairbrush and swore never to join them.

CallMeAl · 09/05/2012 12:46

I notice, but I don't care enough about what other people wear or look like to be bothered to judge them. Whats it to me how much make up someone wears, or if they have false eyelashes? I could not care less.

And if you could be arsed to read the posts, I was arguing AGAINST accusations of bullying. Don't get caught up in a mob mentality because you've got it arse over tit.

I just don't get how this could be interesting enough to want toa talk to others about, let alone post on here. Seems more about OP wanting to feel superior to someone else for an arbitrary reason. Thats what most sneering is about after all.

I do like it, it's so silly it's funny. Erm...

titfortat · 09/05/2012 12:51

I wasn't aiming the "bullying" comment at you Al. I realised it seemed that way though after I had posted it. That was just a general description I was making, and I apologise for that.

CallMeAl · 09/05/2012 12:51

takes one to know one dearie

CallMeAl · 09/05/2012 12:52

that was to OP

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 12:54

Yes it does indeed CallMeAl, as I said, you seemed very certain I was sneering, so it's clearly very familiar behaviour for you. Now off you trot to discuss the Greek economy or whatever other tripe you want to talk about to appear middle-class....

Hi Hex...

I completely get your thread, and observation you made, and what did we think. I don't believe it was bullying!

I think what is really sad, is the personal/nasty replies you've had from a number of 'trolls' on here.

There seems to be a fair bit of 'trolling' going on these days... maybe it's the bad weather we've been having!!!

Simples...... If you think the OP is being unreasonable, tell her... and if she 's spot on, tell her. Why feel the need to tear someone to pieces, form into little gangs and then call her names. You are the bullies! Not Hex.
