So dd1 and dd2 are revising for A levels and GCSEs respectively, ds went out with friends and dh was working from home.

Me? I did 4 loads of washing, cleaned 2 bathrooms, moved the heavy furniture to vacuum hehind and steam cleaned the walls in the kitchen. And a bit more cleaning and cooking for the week. Go me. Anyone had even more fun?

Oh yes, and cried at the bit of Mamma Mia I saw with dd3, because I wan't to be Donna and I'm not.

Think I need wine.

I go to see my parents, I can't fit it in to a normal week.

lolajane2009 · 07/05/2012 20:13

i've rearranged the kitchen, after hubby and fil put up new shelves, exercised ad ate junk food (fed son good food though)

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 07/05/2012 20:14

Much the same here, except I hate Mamma Mia so would only cry if I am made to watch it.

Did housework and barked orders at DH and DS to do some, too.

We did have a lovely day out yesterday, though!

workshy · 07/05/2012 20:14

I worked a 10 hour shift in a shop for no additional pay because they scrapped bank hol premiums last year -grr grr

Shakey1500 · 07/05/2012 20:16

I have taken DS to town, guffawed at a glaring spelling mistake on some signage in a shop and took a photo despite the manager protesting then played football with DS that's a lie, my BIL did while I ate cakes with Dsis played "shops", cooked dinner, ironed uniform, watched snooker and played DS some Nick Drake on youtube Grin

webwiz · 07/05/2012 20:16

DH was working from home, I was studying for my masters course and DS was doing some GCSE revision - so very unexciting here.

Bunbaker · 07/05/2012 20:19

Spent the morning driving back from visiting family. Did some washing and ironing this afternoon and watched an episode of The Bridge. Now supervising DD doing some maths revision.

We tend not to go anywhere on bank holidays because we hate crowds.

Plan - have lovely dsys out with DD and get my hospital bag ready and rearrange and clean the whole house and sort out new nursery.

Reality - achieve nothing, go stir crazy within four walls, get turned into a frog 50 billion times by a cold filled toddler dressed as a fairy, do 40,000 jigsaws get nothing ready for baby due in 3 weeks and resent a sleeping dh who has to work 7pm - 4am because his selfish bastard drunken restaurant customers want feeding.

xxmush1983xx · 07/05/2012 20:43

Started off dreading the day being stuck in house with 2 DDs age 5 and 2, then got saved by my lovely mum who took us up coast to St. Andrews, then ended up eating a fish supper in Anstruther watching the waves crash on the harbour - bliss!

Follyfoot · 07/05/2012 20:46

DH took me to a lovely pub in the middle of nowhere where we had lunch. Other than that I've lazed about whilst he's done the washing and tidying cos I've not been feeling great for a few weeks.

Seona1973 · 07/05/2012 20:49

I went to the tip, found it has closed for good and had to go and find another one! Went for a coil check and had 2 complete strangers rootling about my fanjo as they couldnt find the strings and may have to send me for a scan - not to worry, one of them could eventually feel the strings so avoided the need for a scan. Had to read ds stories as dd went off out with some of her friends and ds was 'bored'. After dh came home from work and football we moved all the bits of the old wooden shed from the back of the house out to the front garden for the uplift tomorrow. Havent had my dinner yet - dh cooking it now, but at least the kids are in bed and are back to school tomorrow!

Svrider · 07/05/2012 20:50

I got dressed up warm and took dcs to park, whereon my dd2 whose 5 rode her bike with no stabilisers

lololizzy · 07/05/2012 20:50

Work. I have worked every single one for the last ten years or so. I don't mind as i'm not keen on being off then, when the world and his wife seems to be out (rather have a day off in the week when it's quieter, though that's not happening this week...a 7 day er)

lololizzy · 07/05/2012 20:51

workshy, I'm in retail too and have never got extras for BH. It's poo. I still don't mind working them though as usually it rains , which is such a waste of a day's hol

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 07/05/2012 20:54

This weekend we did a bit of weeding. And I signed some paperwork. We are knackered and coldy so just taking advantage of an extra day to do nothing much tbh.

Usually we would visit ILs.

McHappyPants2012 · 07/05/2012 20:56

Me and dc got up around 11:30 having watched a few DVD, baked cakes, watched more DVD did abit of colouring just generally a day of eating crap and doing crap

WannaBeWildCosMyLifesSoTame · 07/05/2012 20:57

We went to a village event and got rained on so came home and DH read, DD watched crap on TV played nicely and I worked. Another fantastic Bank Holiday Monday over and done with Sad

PestoPenguin · 07/05/2012 20:58

I find them a bit confusing, tbh

Fiendishlie · 07/05/2012 20:59

shopping Grin

Meglet · 07/05/2012 20:59

Pottered about this morning. Managed to play one board game with the DC's.

Palmed them off on my sister this afternoon and went to town for shopping, came back, waxed under my arms, painted my toes and started dinner. Then the small people came home and the noise started again.

Gumby · 07/05/2012 21:01

Today did gardening
Went for a walk
Went for a drink in the pub
Went to park
Watch nanny McPhee DVD

ifancyashandy · 07/05/2012 21:19

Today, got up about 9 & cleaned the gunk from the dishwasher drain. Nice.

Got up better though... went to pilates, bought a new lingerie set, had an amazing facial, then an afternoon nap followed by a soak & a trashy mag in a bubble bath.

Had dinner, whacked on some fake tan & now sobbing on sofa MNing & watching Corrie.

Lovely day!

Allegrogirl · 07/05/2012 21:22

Went for a picnic on the moors in the camper van (ate in the camper van to avoid getting wet sarnies). Stomped in the mud in our wellies as DDs are four and 20 months and enjoy that sort of thing.

All ate 99s then went home. Did some laundry and cooked dinner.

Maybe the reason my house is a mess is because I'd rather go out than clean.
