Yes, I know it's the daily fail but some of these are not that bad

YABU

Sparklingbrook · 05/05/2012 10:44

But some of them really are that bad. Shock

Iheartpasties · 05/05/2012 10:47

The one with the gun isn't funny, but some of them are!

insancerre · 05/05/2012 10:49

Some are, yes. But some of them are not. The kid with the mohican, the kid with the i still live with my parents t-shirt, the kid with the dress, the kid with the shopping trolley and the kisd in the lobster pot.
Not everyone's idea of parenting perhaps but hardly in the same league as chewing on the barrel of a gun.
And if you saw a sign next to a bin that said 'dsipose of your ugly children here' wouldn't you be a little bit tempted to put them in?

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 05/05/2012 10:51

Actually yes I would insancerre. Grin But i wouldn't be able to lift them in. Grin

Morloth · 05/05/2012 10:53

Many funny, but the toddler with the gun makes me feel ill.

DaisyMaisyJessicaEmily · 05/05/2012 10:53

Rag doll: This tiny tot has been left stuffed into the kitchen tea towel draw

For a start it's DRAWER and for a second - really, you think? ffs never heard of staging a funny pic, SOH failure/lazy journalism/etc/etc/etc

Hmm

(although agree the gun one and the disabled boy duct-taped down is not funny at all)

TheUnMember · 05/05/2012 10:54

I have some like that of my daughter.

I have one of her swigging out of grandad's whiskey bottle. (with the lid on)
One of her and her cousin sitting playing in the dog cage. (they got in it on their own and wouldn't get out)
Plus I have one of her screaming in terror being held by a scary looking man. (with a big white beard and a red suit)

monkeymoma · 05/05/2012 10:54

the original of the bin one didn't say that it was edited

some are funny (like the lobster), some are cute, some are seriously not (like the kids with cigarettes, beer bottles and guns in their mouths)

DaisyMaisyJessicaEmily · 05/05/2012 10:54

Wtf is wrong with the lobster pot one? Never heard of Anne Geddes?

DaisyMaisyJessicaEmily · 05/05/2012 10:55

I have pics of my then 2yo drinking champagne with a straw at a family wedding Blush

TheMonster · 05/05/2012 10:56

Oh dear. The Daily Fail has said one photo is of a bird cage when it is a dog cage, and they have spelt 'drawer' as 'draw'.

monkeymoma · 05/05/2012 10:56

"I have one of her swigging out of grandad's whiskey bottle. (with the lid on)"

that is bloody stupid! it is poison! but you're teaching them it's safe and funny! would you take a "funny" photo of your child swigging on bleach with the lid on? it's the same thing! you should be teaching them that some things are dangerous poison and its not funny to play with them at all!

DaisyMaisyJessicaEmily · 05/05/2012 10:59

Would hardly class whiskey as bleach Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 05/05/2012 10:59

But why take a picture. that's what I don't get. Confused

monkeymoma · 05/05/2012 11:00

neat whisky is a poison to a small body

TheUnMember · 05/05/2012 11:00

Well my daughter is now an adult and teetotal so I must have done something right.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/05/2012 11:01

That picture of the child with probably SN duct taped to a table is shocking. And don't find any others funny tbh

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/05/2012 11:02

*probable

monkeymoma · 05/05/2012 11:03

that's good/lucky!

children need to be taught safety around dangerous substances, laughing at them swigging a bottle of neat spirits while you take the time to take a photograph undermines that

its about as funny and reckless as letting them play with any other dangerous chemical you have in the house

Morloth · 05/05/2012 11:03

Hey monkey go take a swig of whiskey and a swig of bleach and get back to us with the results.

We are bogans and therefore have the requisite toddler with beer bottle photos. I think it may actually be the law here...

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 05/05/2012 11:06

The lobster one is cute. But some are just awful - especially the duct tape one and precariously balanced babies/toddlers. The problem is stuff like this encourages moronic parents to stage photos - and sadly I have contributed to this by clicking on the link. I wish you hadn't posted this thread OP.

I still sadly remember the toddler running around glastonbury with a plate attached to his bottom lip to stretch it in the manner of a few tribes somewhere? It was a long time ago and thankfully i think nowdays SS would intervene. Sadly some parents are idiots.

NiceHamione · 05/05/2012 11:07

Nothing funny about taping a child to a table, or giving them a gun. That is abuse.

monkeymoma · 05/05/2012 11:08

I wouldn't do either and take all precautions I can to ensure DS doesn't ingest either

just because bleach is a worse poison doesn't make neat whiskey any less of a dangerous poison to children

if you think neat whiskey is not a poison for children then that is a problem!
