This weekends a bank holiday?

Lemele · 04/05/2012 14:52

Going to a historical working farm on monday as a bday present for our DS who will be 2.

I expect the rest of the weekend will be filled with making cakes and slacking as much as is possible with a nearly 2 year old and 1mo twins!

notcitrus · 04/05/2012 14:59

Local pub is having a bouncy castle and facepainting so will go along. If it's a nice day will also go to a friend who is having a barbecue, but not if it's wet as the kids would be bored if they couldn't be in the garden.

HotPinkEwokWearingLederhosen · 04/05/2012 15:08

Going to visit a large over priced over busy castle owned a wanky big soul sucking corporation.

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2012 15:11

Not WC by any chance HotPink?

HotPinkEwokWearingLederhosen · 04/05/2012 15:21

However did you guess Sparkling? Grin

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2012 15:23

Just a guess HotPink. I have never had the pleasure but DH took the DC while I was at work once and after tickets, food, car parking and the gift shop it cost a fortune. Sad

HotPinkEwokWearingLederhosen · 04/05/2012 15:26

Its horrendous! thankfully the tickets are FOC - but it will undoubtedly still drain our pockets Sad

Dinosaurdrip · 04/05/2012 15:28

Hey singing you could come visit me at work when you're in Scarborough or you could come and take over if you really want. Grin

DilysPrice · 04/05/2012 15:31

FoodUnit you're a genius. Canal cavalcade it is (weather forecast looks dreary and cold but dry for London).

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 04/05/2012 15:33

Mostly working Sad

Actually, I'm not that Sad; I love what I do. And I'm off to the theatre tonight and seeing a friend for dinner and a movie tomorrow night. Sunday night DP is off out and I'm planning on taking to my bed with some films and TV that he won't watch with me. Monday we'll probably go for brunch before I go back to the coalface.

tightwad · 04/05/2012 15:35

my boys are away in the caravan so im alone till Monday.

fullof a snotty cold and fed up, so gonna have a bath, take drugs(paracetamol...obv) and go for a nice meal with my bestest pal tonight, then dunno, clean prob & sleep lots

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 04/05/2012 16:25

We were going to have a couple of days away. Unfortunately dd has germs so we've cancelled. No idea now.

aquashiv · 04/05/2012 16:31

meant to be having friends over for a lovely sunny May BBQ so that means it will p1ss down

CointreauVersial · 04/05/2012 17:21

Hotpink, I used to go to WC back in the day, before it was owned by bloodsucking waxworks megacorp.

Twas quite charming back then......

CointreauVersial · 04/05/2012 17:25

I have to say, FoodUnit, that Canalside Cavalcade looks really lovely.

We were supposed to have a Football Fun Day on Monday, but it has been cancelled, so we are unexpectedly at a loose end. A day in London has been suggested, and that would be perfect.

Nothing much else planned, tbh......the Bank Holiday took me by surprise, somewhat.

HotPinkEwokWearingLederhosen · 04/05/2012 17:33

Cointreau, me too. Lovely days out we had, that's why it depresses me now. It was more fun then because you weren't having

AREN'T CASTLES FUN THEY ARE AREN'T THEY THEY ARE FUN

At you every five minutes.

presse · 04/05/2012 19:25

Am so delighted that I am not the only one who hates bank holidays. In fact I don't really like holidays at all. My hairdresser has given up on any chit chat with me as he trims because I have no holiday chat at all.

sphil · 04/05/2012 19:26

We are doing domestic stuff and seeing my Dad tomorrow, outing of some sort Sunday and I am singing with my choir at a May Fair on Monday - our first ever pulic performance. Outdoors. It will be raining. Grin

sphil · 04/05/2012 19:27

public not pulic.

Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 04/05/2012 19:38

Ds is at cub camp & dh is working.

Dd (7) & I are having a girlie weekend at her request. We are watching the Julia Roberts snow white film at the cinema and going to Primark tomorrow. Also stopping for hot chocolate at Starbucks.

Sunday we will sit in bed all morning and watch the voice and bgt (while I mumsnet) before cooking a roast and baking cakes. She alo want a comic to read in a bubbly bath.

I'm looking forward to it as I rarely get any one to one time with her and she's as such a nice stage. Out of the tantrums but not yet into tweenage sulks.

lovelydogs · 04/05/2012 19:41

Thanks foodunit, that all looks fabby. Catch you there ;-)

jendifa · 04/05/2012 19:55

Baking, knitting, gardening, Hoping to make a skirt. Also all the odd jobs like mopping all the bathrooms in one go and cleaning the windows. Makes me sound very cool - I'm 26!!

Would also like to make some gifts for people and save them for Christmas presents, but we'll see if that happens!!

Ambi · 04/05/2012 20:16

Going to Thomas the Tank Engine.

Queenofknickers · 04/05/2012 20:33
