Would you be upset if a mum said this about your baby?

Bumped in to a mum from ds1 old nursery today. Not seen her for about six months, maybe more.

We both had our dc2 about the same time.

Other mum looked at my ds2 and the first thing that came out of her mouth was.....

" wow, look at those ears!"

Now, ds2 ears stick out a little (pic on profile), but he's not a human dumbo. I just felt that she was rude and it upset me that she said it.

She didn't back track or make a joke of what she said-that was just what she meant.

Am I being too sensitive?

Sure his ears stick out but it was rude of her to mention it.

I think that old MN comment "gosh that sounded really rude, did you mean it to be?" with a sweet smile, would've done the trick!

I don't think I'd be upset - I'd just internally sneer at her for clearly having been dragged up and consequently having appalling manners. How rude! And what jezebelle said - I get this all the time with DS3 and it is rather boring. Your DS2 is gorgeous .

she was stupid forget about it, ds has had several remarks over his ginger hair, and now it is going blondish it is along the lines of lucky for him

But, as to whether or not it would upset me, it would depend on how true it was.
If my child did have big ears I would laugh and agree with the woman
If he did not then I would be pissed off
