This morning, my son - the 15 year old

........ who cannot get out of bed.
........who misses two school buses a week because he gets out of bed at 0750 (bus leaves at 0800).
........who sits on the sofa and stuffs food wrappers down the side rather than walk across the room to the bin.
.........who goes to put something in the dishwasher, but when he sees it is full of clean stuff having just finished its cycle, stacks plates and cups up on the worktop waiting for someone else to empty it.
.........who puts clean clothes in the laundry basket rather than fold them up and put them away.

was downstairs in the kitchen today, dressed in school uniform, at 0730, emptying the dishwasher with a cup of tea made for me on the table.....
ConfusedShockConfusedShockConfusedShockConfusedShock

Is he on drugs?

Is there a major unreasonable request coming up, requiring girding of the loins......

Help!

My 11 year old is being helpful too but I know what he wants Grin

FauxFox · 02/05/2012 19:21

Do you think he's on a mission to snare an older girlfriend? Clean room, job (money) and image overhaul??

Northernlurker · 02/05/2012 19:27

Sorting his wardrobe out? Shock My dh doesn't do that and he's 36! I think you may need to call NHS direct. Does he have a temperature?

clippityclop · 02/05/2012 19:33

Marking place!

BellaVita · 02/05/2012 19:36

Loving it!

ifeelloved · 02/05/2012 19:46

Loving this!

Although it is making me worry about the coming teenage years with my dds!

I have discovered the reason behind mine's sudden un-Kevin like behaviour. Prom. And he want to spend the night in a hotel with his girly friend...he will be 16 but now having to have 'that conversation' about being respectful and careful and respectful and OH MY GOD he's going to have sex...no emoticon for panic??!!!
Although suppose should be pleased he came to talk to me us about it!

Moln · 02/05/2012 20:18

here's another thought - Maybe, instead od both having babies, Kevin and Perry want to have a baby together? So they are saving up for a surrogate?

bringmesunshine2009 · 02/05/2012 20:20

Joining in love group

Rhinosaurus · 02/05/2012 20:22

My Kevin is obviously playing the long game.....

Never saw Spar as somewhere worthy of boasting!

I don't read this as a Prom-Wish,apologies if I'm wrong but I'm going for weekend away with benefits [travel there and back via parents].

slightlyderanged · 02/05/2012 20:42

This is the most entertaining thread i have read all week! :o

Annunziata · 02/05/2012 20:49

I have one word for you ladies: Newquay. Shock

At least it won't be Malia yet.

funnyperson · 02/05/2012 20:56

Reading.

Or being bullied on the coach.

Theoscargoesto · 02/05/2012 21:33

The thing that would really worry me is being seen by his mum in his pants. I have dds but understand from those with one or more ds that this never happens. It's going to be expensive, is my guess!

Rhinosaurus · 02/05/2012 21:43

Two of our boys don't mind wandering round in pants, they wear trunk style ones with funky pics on from Top Man. Tonight's had Pacman on.

I don't think it's bullying as he has for lots of mates on bus and at school, and generally as the entertainer with his mooning and silliness he appears to be quite well liked.

One of the other kids has just said new girl has moved into the village lecture needed about not shitting on your own doorstep so that merits investigation too - perry might have come over to look through their windows at twilight (curtains open, lights on) check her out.

Hmm, I may have to change my explanation! It must be love...

TheUnsinkableTitanic · 02/05/2012 21:50

this is too funny :)

eldest DC is only 5, so this all seems a lifetime away

Herrena · 02/05/2012 21:57

I've got a 10mo DS and another DS incubating, so this thread is filling me with suspense and horror simultaneously...

They don't ALL become Kevins, do they? Do they?!

Annunziata · 02/05/2012 21:59

Mine have flashes of Kevin-ness, but are very nice on the whole. And they're so much fun when they're teenagers!

DoesItComeInBlack · 02/05/2012 22:06

Has he got a girlfriend? Is she pregnant? Have aliens come and transplanted a cloneover night/ Do the want my son too?

Rhinosaurus · 02/05/2012 22:06

I'm very much of the opinion that everyone has a teenage phase at some point even if they sail through teenage years. My friends son is having it at 17 and another friend swears her oh is having it at 30!

Our oldest at 18 had no teenage itis, he was a joy, very sensible. But.... Not many funny anecdotes about his antics unlike no.2 now 17 who once hid a girl in our shed leading to a coastguard search (with helicopter) as she was on holiday in our seaside village.... Apparently they were in love and she didn't want to go back to Birmingham!

CheesyWellingtons · 02/05/2012 22:07

Does he read much? Could a book have changed his thinking? What films has he seen recently?

I'd check your house, contents and life insurances are up to date ...

amillionyears · 02/05/2012 22:10

We could have a vote!
My vote is its a girl.
