DD does tennis. The courts belong to the posh public school and the tennis club rents them for lessons/games etc as the town doesn't have courts for us commoners.

DD has just phoned me to tell me the posh kids are refusing to leave and the teacher is taking them on.

I hope it doesn't end in fisticuffs.

I know i'm not unreasonable at all but as we all love a private vs state controversy i decided this would be the ideak place for it.

Off you go.......

LynetteScavo · 27/04/2012 19:29

"only aloud off"

Freudian slip?

dexter73 · 27/04/2012 19:30

One of the posh kids will talk to Daddy who is probably a barrister and they will kick up a stink with the head about the common kids using the tennis courts that 'they bloody well pay for!'

Marilyn1980 · 27/04/2012 19:31

pulls up a pew anyone want a Wine?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 27/04/2012 19:31

Huzzah commoners!

I have just returned from having a (cheap brand that you've never heard of) fag in the garden, wearing dressing gown and slippers and clutching a can of larger.

Only a confidently posh gel such as I could carry this off with such aplomb.

DameHermione · 27/04/2012 19:32

DD and her hard mates battered them with their tennis bats and chucked them in the river. They were soundly trounced and didn't slope off meekly, when told to by the teacher, at all

I worked in an Independent school once. The kids were mostly very lovely except for a few who called the state schools 'chav schools' and bragged about having gone to the local prep. Hmm I blame the parents.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 27/04/2012 19:33

Oh Lynette I missed your drum analysis. Vair good Grin

DameHermione · 27/04/2012 19:34

I think the posh school allows the commoners to rent the courts at an extortionate rate as some sort of 'integrating with the community' charity exercise.

Just popping in for class clarification of piano if I may?

Whoopydofoxpoo · 27/04/2012 19:35

"only aloud off" - oh yes ! Grin

Whoopydofoxpoo · 27/04/2012 19:37

Chucked the bats or posh kids in the river ?

Clarification please !

DameHermione · 27/04/2012 19:38

8DameHermione*, Well yes, the school is a charity, and therefore must help those less fortunate than themselves. Maybe this is a tact the tennis teacher could use in future. Maybe the children waiting for the lesson could look sad and feeble for effect.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 27/04/2012 19:39

If the piano is an elderly and not terribly good one, then impoverished posh and/or bohemian.

Mrsjay · 27/04/2012 19:41

I think having an old piano puts you in the aristocracy jen Grin

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 27/04/2012 19:44

Ah but aristos are often impoverished (these things being relative), all their money being tied up in the upkeep of the house and so on, and much of the wealth having been squandered by Happy Valley ancestors. I stand by my analysis Grin

DameHermione · 27/04/2012 19:53

I'm very impoverished.

I don't have a horse though.

Hark at you and your 'racquets'

Dds guitar teacher comes to the house. But only because she won't go to bloody blasted school.

OP posts:
DameHermione · 27/04/2012 20:47

Although we're still commoners as the dds go to the comp rather than the 50k per annum posho school because i'm impoverished.

And all my feckless aristocratic ancestors frittered away the family money on bloody unproductive goldmines and gin.
