Pushed over the edge by benefit cheats!

I'm getting increasingly annoyed with my neighbours family, we're very close and have been for a long time, but they are just so loose cheeky it makes me want to do something! But at the same time I don't know if I should just mind my own!!

My neighbour has three daughters;

Daughter 'A' lives in a council property with her children and claims all her entitled benefits as a single parent. Her long term boyfriend also lives with her, and he works full time earning a lot of money. He owns his own property which they rent out to make more cash for themselves!

Daughter 'B' lives in a council property with her son and claims benefits as a single person, although her partner also lives there and works full time.

Daughter 'C' (this is what's really pissed me off today!). She is married and lives with her husband and children in their own (mortgaged) property. They both work and earn good money. She however has made a dodgy application to the council housing list and has been offered a property which they are goin to accept! They plan to sell their home!

It annoys the hell out of me that so much money is being fraudulently claimed, and that it is clearly so easy to do. I really want to dob the cheeky bastards in, although am abit scared they'll find out it was me! And don't know if I should just mind my own beeswax!

ARGH! Rimmer cling film?

What, how, how does that? Why. Why would. Doesn't that?

I CANNOT GIVE THIS HEADROOM.

SleeepyHead · 09/04/2012 18:29

Nah forget the cling film. The followers need a straw.. it helps with the sucking up to the queen.

PerryCombover · 09/04/2012 18:31

That would be all I could use cling film for as I have a mountain of Tupperware. Including a Tupperware bed I sleep in to preserve myself

I received that from the benefits agency before they started wasting their money on goats

IamTheSandInYourVagina · 09/04/2012 18:32

Sue. I want you to change your name now to SuePurblyBiltbyBees.

And the, right, what I'm going to do is follow you around on threads saying bees. To you. OK?

It will look like this:

AIBU to like Miss Marple?
Poster A: YANBOO
Poster B: YABU she is annoying
Sue: joke about Miss Marple
Me: bees.

Dawndonna · 09/04/2012 18:32

Josephine If you used to work for the fraud department you would know that all benefits are stopped whilst people are being investigated. In what way is that fair, particularly on someone who is innocent?

LineRunner · 09/04/2012 18:33

Oh yes, catgirl, people on benefits and tax credits should report themselves every week Just In Case. That'd save the nation a fucking fortune.

IamTheSandInYourVagina · 09/04/2012 18:33

Er. Sleeepy, this is a bit embarrassing, but I'm actually the Queen Bee of MN.

So, all this talk about arselicking cunts and stuff is not only daft but INACCURATE as well.

ABatInBunkFive · 09/04/2012 18:34

Josephine have you any idea of the stress being falsely accused of something causes?

I do love people who think that individuals with the same opinion which ios different from theirs must be following someone elses opinion cause of some sort of i dunno what.

Iz you jealous or summat
sleeepy?

tethersend · 09/04/2012 18:36

Can I do a serious answer saying that the government's own estimate of the amount lost in benefit fraud is dwarfed by the amount of benefit money which is unclaimed and that this paints a very different and more accurate picture of the kind of society we live in but unfortunately it's one which doesn't justify ideological cuts?

No, probably best not.

No tethers you can't never let facts get in the way of a good froth.

catgirl1976 · 09/04/2012 18:37

Why stop at Benefiit Fraud? We could all report ourselves for every crime every week and then anyon guilty would be caught and any one innocent would have nothing to fear.

This is genius. Good work Josephine! Any other amazing proposals?

Peachy · 09/04/2012 18:37

My mate was reported for fraud, DLA fraud.

It was crap, they set him up deliberately with a pic of him pretending to do something he actually cannot do.

So this 60 year old war veteran who ahd shrapnel embedded in his back, PTSD becuase he shot a child who was going to throw a grenade at him, hard working until he started passing our randomly from pain, man had his income stopped, thought he would lose the car that was the only way he could get out and about and his home.

And the bitch who did it for a laugh thinks it is bloody funny.

LineRunner · 09/04/2012 18:37

Nice goat btw, catgirl. Smile

usualsuspect · 09/04/2012 18:38

Oh its the poster from last night, shame that thread was deleted it was very funny.

JosephineCD · 09/04/2012 18:38

That isn't true at all. The benefit wouldn't be stopped until the investigators have determined that fraud is taking place.

Josephine have you any idea of the stress being falsely accused of something causes?
Lots of things in life are stressful. Work is stressful. Being a parent is stressful. If there is a benefits system there has to be a way of weeding out fraudsters.

Peachy · 09/04/2012 18:38

And efinitely goats not peacocks.

DH has this hobby that invovles going to farmland a lot, at one place he used to be attacked by a peacock every bloody week....

PerryCombover · 09/04/2012 18:39

Everyone who has need to receive a govt pittance MUST be a defrauding and worth reporting .

I think every nosy cow who wrongly reports an innocent person for claiming benefits should receive community justice.
The stress the innocent reported person must go through whilst proving their innocence is insupportable.
The wrong accuser should be made feel equal or greater stress for their meddling

usualsuspect · 09/04/2012 18:39

JosephineCD, what happens to the goats though Sad

Some insane old bint once accused me of living with Karl Marx to the council. They stopped my single person discount.

Oh how we laughed.

ABatInBunkFive · 09/04/2012 18:41

You will know though having done the job that the actual % of fraudsters is actually very small and as said above comes no where near the amount of unclaimed benefits.

Oh well if it's only stopped until they prove fraud that's fine. Hmm

LineRunner · 09/04/2012 18:41

Everyone knows I'm an Engels chick.
