Loads of photos of eggs lined up "look how good the Easter bunny has been" "spoilt rotten" I think it's a bit sad really.

Look at all the unhealthy crap we bought our kids aren't we great? Defeats the real purpose of Easter and also all this overbuying when there's so much child poverty.

Ours got a few eggs and a few for an egg hunt. I'm just an Easter bunny bah humbug aren't I?

Yep! You are just a bah humbug! Easter Bunny Grin

belgo · 08/04/2012 18:39

Doesn't bother me.

Although of course I would never do that but only because the eggs get eaten before I find the camera.

Hmm
PeppaTwig · 08/04/2012 18:39

YAB a bit U. My DS has loads (2.5yrs) and I haven't bought him any cos I knew he'd get loads from others. I will probably help him eat it though in the name of healthy eating...
Isn't it just a given that kids will get loads of chocolate at Easter?

Queenofcake · 08/04/2012 18:39

No not really.

I live miles from our friends and family and DC God parents. All who posted up eggs and treats for my DC. I took pics of them looking happy with their treats and posted them on my FB so they could all share in the day and see how happy we all are.

CremeEggsandHam · 08/04/2012 18:39

Just because some people have loads of eggs, doesn't mean the parents have bought them loads. Some have lots of aunties and uncles, grandparents and great grandparents like here who like to buy eggs.
I bought them one little egg each, and it STILL looks like an eggsplosion (sorry) in a chocolate egg factory.
So yes, you're a sour rotten Easter Egg Grin

ObviouslyOblivious · 08/04/2012 18:40

My adult friend did this for her eggs! She and her DH have about 10 between them - no DCs :o

BellaVita · 08/04/2012 18:41

YABU.

Sparklingbrook · 08/04/2012 18:42

It was the same at Christmas wasn't it? Photos of loads of presents?

I am not on FB but I believe that's what it's for? Confused

NettoSuperstar · 08/04/2012 18:44

Are you on my FB?
I did that, but then I overshare and am boring [bugrin]

AngryFeet · 08/04/2012 18:44

Meh. Don't care really. My kids have a few. Not bothered if people know they have eaten too much chocolate but couldn't be arsed to take pics of it. But then Facebook is really just a tool to show off the better aspects of your life for most people so not a big deal tbh.

upahill · 08/04/2012 18:46

YABU!!!
HTH

Heswall · 08/04/2012 18:48

I used to buy them lots, but nobody actually ate them expect me so now they get one each and I don't feel the need to photograph the chocolate tbh.

Heswall · 08/04/2012 18:48

except me

sweetkitty · 08/04/2012 18:51

Oh well I'll be a sad old Easter egg then, pics of children hunting for eggs is ok but just a photo of the eggs I still think is a bit sad, is they're a FB egg outdoing comp.

Yes like Christmas and valentines day.

Got to love old bragbook don't youGrin

Yanbu I don't get why people need to show off how many eggs their dc had. It is silly in my opinion.

AwkwardMaryHadAnEasterLamb · 08/04/2012 18:55

Yanbu I HATE pics of dinners, presents, bouquets and now eggs! I like pics of new babies, funny signs, bad haircuts and injuries. Grin

M0naLisa · 08/04/2012 18:58

Yeah i too think its sad, specially when a mother puts up a picture of her Daughters eggs and there must be 25 eggs Shock

Floggingmolly · 08/04/2012 19:16

How did people boast before the advent of Facebook? The tiny audiences must have really cramped their style!

Cremeeggsandkitkatsoldiers · 08/04/2012 19:21

and the ones which are just a pile of wrapped presents on birthdays Hmm

who is it for the benefit of?

not the child - obviously
not absent grandparents/aunts/uncles because surely they would prefer a pic of the actual child
not anyone close enough to be a gift giver (because they would obv prefer a pic of the child opening or using their present, and they already know how it's wrapped)

WHO ARE THESE PHOTOS FOR????

Sparklingbrook · 08/04/2012 19:23

I think people flatter themselves to think that anyone is in the least bit interested in photos of their Easter Eggs on Facebook TBH.

upahill · 08/04/2012 19:24

I love facebook and love seeing my friends status and what they are up to.
I haven't got time to meet them as much as I would like so I think it is a great thing.
In real life I have friends who are a bit more boasty than others- but so what? It's just a modern equivalant of having a chat and showing photos.
Therefore I think YABU about FB
I think you are being UR about the number of Easter Eggs?
How on earth can you have too many? I am a bit confused.

Grin
sweetkitty · 08/04/2012 19:32

Oh I love FB as well I love all the kids photos, just the lines of eggs baffles me, in size order Grin

DS1's Facebook is hilarious. Lots of teenage girls trying to out-pout each other, and tell each other how pretty they are. Interspersed with things about football and strange jokes. Grin
