Loads of photos of eggs lined up "look how good the Easter bunny has been" "spoilt rotten" I think it's a bit sad really.

Look at all the unhealthy crap we bought our kids aren't we great? Defeats the real purpose of Easter and also all this overbuying when there's so much child poverty.

Ours got a few eggs and a few for an egg hunt. I'm just an Easter bunny bah humbug aren't I?

In France one egg is an oeuf.

(best said out loud)

LostMyIdentityAlongTheWay · 08/04/2012 19:42

Facebook makes me PMSL! In years to come they'll be showing pics of their gastric bands cos they ate too much lardass chocolate.
Then we'll all be posting pics of our incontinence pads, arranged in size order.
Facebook is just there for people to boast about their lives.
Don't fret so much. It's not RL. Not like MN or anything...

therewasatime · 08/04/2012 19:55

FB is for the benefit of ME, we live such busy lives its like a giant photo diary for myself.

I love it just for that.

sweetkitty · 08/04/2012 20:07

Another one, tonnes of eggs, with hung up tshirts and baby outfits all carefully displayed for the photo! Just a crass look how spoiled our children are.

Oh what is it with that teenage pouty thing? My neice has a new pout photo every day with 100 likes.

I do cringe at this, and the Christmas and birthday presents all lined up. Its to showey offey

oohlordylordy · 08/04/2012 20:12

I agree SOO much with therewasatime

I did put a piccie of my kids with their eggs (only got one each and they had to complete a mile easter egg hunt to get it) but then my DS (3) won't touch chocolate Confused

GavisconJunkie · 08/04/2012 20:14

YANBU I find it odd. It's like sticking them in front of a family sized KFC bucket & going 'look, look at what we can afford!' (kind of...)

I overshare on fb as the vast majority of my family live a plane journey away. But I hate the Easter egg thing. One kid I saw had 15, 5 were from rellies the other 10 (ranging from a couple of kinderto large mars) were from mummy & daddy for Easter egg hunt. Child is 3.7.

sweetkitty · 08/04/2012 20:16

Kids plus eggs is nice marking Easter with a photo to look back on.

Hanging up t-shirts and outfits and lining up eggs in size or brand order is just naff, sorry my opinion. If you want to take a photo to remember what they got then don't post it in FB with comments about how spoiled they are. Usually the people that brag about everything and anything.

I know everyone on my FB is not only interested in me, but they actually wait for my updates.
They wouldn't sleep at night if they'd not seen the photo of my dinner.

NettoSuperstar · 08/04/2012 20:17

I could sense the happiness after I posted a photo of my repainted nails earlier.

sweetkitty · 08/04/2012 20:18

Mine have had about 60 between them mostly little ones for a hunt, there's four of them do I wanted to stretch it out, keeps them occupied for a while, hide them in challenging places Grin never felt the need to post a photo of them on FB.

I hate way it's spread to other things like Amazon, where you get asked if you want to share the details of your purchase with your friends. The other day I was asked if I wanted to post on Facebook, tweet or email that I had just bought a scart cable. I declined. Hope my friends didn't feel they were missing out.

treedelivery · 08/04/2012 20:20

I like looking at friends with their children. I like to see what's going on and how they are doing. I am clearly a bit sad.

You are stil BU though [bugrin]

Ohnoredundo · 08/04/2012 20:25

Oh yes - the photos of bouquets. Ick.

sweetkitty · 08/04/2012 20:25

Yes friends and children is great, looking to see how old school friends have aged great.

Lines of Easter eggs is naff, I still think it sorry Grin

I would most definitely need to know if a friend had bought a scary cable Grin maybe I can post my entire weekly online shop, oh I'm do rich I can afford brands you know not own label and see how many loo rolls we buy!

EightiesEasterChick that made me laugh.

I have noticed a lot of my facebook friends have bought presents for their children as well as eggs. I mean big presents, like a wooden wendy house or a laptop [buhmm]. My mum got DS a little soft farm, as he is only 16 weeks, but I got him nothing (mean). A laptop though!

h0tcrossmum · 08/04/2012 20:39

DS (2 next week!) got 12 eggs (those asda £1 cadburys type ones) 1 chocolate kinder bunny and a smarties chocolate Easter chick... I didn't buy him any of them!!! They were all bought by friends and relatives.. I did take a photo tho... Blush I assume this would now be frowned upon to post on fb?!Confused

sweetkitty · 08/04/2012 20:41

No it's just me apparently I'm BU about it but I don't care Grin

mosschops30 · 08/04/2012 20:46

YANBU loads of my friends did it, i find it very competitive 'ooh look how many eggs we bought, and how creative we were in hiding them for our hunt, we are the most amazing parents'

Oh bugger off you nobs!

cadburyseggsarebest · 08/04/2012 20:51

I took a photo of our eggs, didn't post them on facebook though. But I just took them because it was such a ridiculous amount of chocolate! I only bought 1 egg each for our ones, no thing else. But they're the only children about here so the neighbours all send them over, add aunts and granny and they got 8 each. 5dc x8, yes there were 40 eggs here! They are lined up on top of the cupboards so they can't get anymore. I'll make some rocky road with them later on and bring some into work.

cadburyseggsarebest · 08/04/2012 20:52

eightieseasterchick you so should have shared your scart lead purchase!

EightiesEasterChick · 08/04/2012 21:07

I wonder if it would gain or lose me followers on Twitter to tweet about my scart lead? It was a premium one, you know Grin No need to thank me for this fascinating information.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 08/04/2012 21:14

I do that Christmas present thing.
I dont do it to show off, I do it because the amount of stuff I get my kids is utterly ridiculous and I know it.
Its more of a 'look what a twit I have been again' rather than 'look how wonderful I am for buying all this stuff'

If people take it any other way meh, thats their issue.

I cant be doing with the competative 'simple christmas' stuff. 'we just give the DCs a small orange and a box of coloring pencils. We tell them we have sent money to help a poor child in India' Hmm

My kids only get one egg at easter. If people want to buy theirs 30 - good for them.

treedelivery · 08/04/2012 21:18

oooo MrsDeVere - You might be me. Cool. Someone I feel the same as. Very cool.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 08/04/2012 21:26

Specially as I happen to be particularly cool tree [bugrin]
