Am I wrong to feel uncomfortable about this? He is v cute and you can't see any of his bits, as he is in a baby bath seat thing. But I still felt a little weird about it being posted on the internet. AIBU to feel this way? Should I voice my feelings to the parents?

Why is it an embarrassing video? Its a baby in the bath?

whackamole · 01/04/2012 20:45

How can a video of a baby be embarrassing? Embarrassing videos as an adult I wouldn't be happy about but unless you are 13 I see no reason to be embarrassed about pics or videos of myself as a baby.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 01/04/2012 20:45

Oh I SEE. OP is worried that in 15 years time the child in question is going to be embarrassed that mum posted a video of them in the bath on the internet not that there are dorty peeeeedos lurking in every corner of Facebook
Hmm

culturemulcher · 01/04/2012 20:45

YABVU and I pity your friend if you conveyed any of your dubious discomfort to your friend.

AdornMeWithSparkle · 01/04/2012 20:46

I am firmly of the opinion that there is no such thing as an embarrassing baby photo.

Embarrassing photos start after puberty imo.

Before that it's all amusing or cute.

Rosebud05 · 01/04/2012 20:46

FWIW, I think you're perfectly reasonable to feel as you feel. It's not everyone's cup of tea.

You've probably sensed from the other contributions to this thread that most people don't mind these types of vids being on FB.

Each to their own. It's not my thing either, but I don't consider myself weird. Though I wouldn't say anything to his parents.

Gemtubbs · 01/04/2012 20:46

I dunno. People talk about their parents getting out embarrassing baby photos when they bring their first bf or gf home. Now, those baby photos are posted on the internet for everyone to see. Everyone must have photos of themselves as a child which they would rather not share on the internet?

my family put loads of embarressing childhood pics of me on the internet.

think you did a very large u turn op.

Mrsjay · 01/04/2012 20:49

My sister and I have been posting embarassing baby/child pictures alll week with some very 70s and 80s clothes , Grin

Chubfuddler · 01/04/2012 20:50

Yes it's one of those cliches that isn't true. Or rather what is embarrassing is the excessive parental pride, not the fact you used to wear a maroon matinee jacket. If it happens. Which it doesn't. It's a made up tv land thing.

slowestwildebeast · 01/04/2012 20:50

oh god! here we go again. YABU I'm assuming only fb friends can view it? If it's public then I'd be irritated but if it's just there for friends to view then I don't see the issue.

squeakytoy · 01/04/2012 20:51

How is it embarassing?

Stratters · 01/04/2012 20:53

Mrsjay are you MY sister? Shock

We have found, and posted, some real shockers this week.

LST · 01/04/2012 20:54

If your the one feeling uncomfortable, then your the one with the problem Hmm

ShirelyKnottage · 01/04/2012 20:54

Moo.

Laambkins · 01/04/2012 20:54

YABU. Certainly says more about you and the people you have as 'friends'

VeniVidiVisa · 01/04/2012 20:55

To be honest, I'd be more embarrassed if someone posted an old picture of me with my 80's perm and mega shoulder pads than I would of me as a baby.

piratecat · 01/04/2012 20:55

oh my god.

and my very first Biscuit

RobinSparkles · 01/04/2012 20:55

YABS (stupid)

What the hell is wrong with a one year old having a bath? You can't see anything!

DollysDrawers · 01/04/2012 20:56

Seriously, what's weird about it?

ABatInBunkFive · 01/04/2012 20:57

Which bit is weird? Confused

Gemtubbs · 01/04/2012 20:59

Thanks everyone. I feel really stupid and about that big (1cm high) for ever asking myself the question "Is this ok to post this on fb?". I feel like I've been slapped in the face and told to snap out of it. So thank you. :)

Still, not sure I'd want a video of baby me in the bath on the internet. :)

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 01/04/2012 20:59

Gemtubbs · 01/04/2012 21:02

btw, I heard a while ago that if I take a photo of my baby in the bath, and go to get it printed out at Boots or whereever, they'll report the photo as being indecent of something? Or is this a load of bollocks?
