unutterably creepy. Makes my skin crawl, this fine weather means they're everywhere too. Am I alone in feeling this? Bleurgh.

I can handle them in Birkenstocks, but in Havaianas? Ick.

NarkedPuffin so did I. Most disappointing.

AnyFucker · 27/03/2012 12:17

there was a young lady in a cheap maxi dress and raffia wedges yesterday in Morrison's

she just looked ridiculous really

not simply the "cheapness" as not everyone can afford the Gucci max if dresses (if Gucci do 'em, I dunno) but just how out of place beachwear looked in a Grim Northern Town, in March

AnyFucker · 27/03/2012 12:17

*maxi

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 12:17

I love my DH in his Havainas. He had lovely slim soft non hairy feet and nice toe nails. Hmm at the poster who prefers sandals with socks underneath?! Grin
I think all other sandals are just plain ugly, make me shudder.

squoosh · 27/03/2012 12:18

I like men in a nice deck shoe. They don't even need the yacht to go with it.

Trainers without socks would mightily whiffy, and trainers with white pulled up socks accompanied with shorts shorts screams 'American abroad' to me.

Deck shoes it is.

oh dear, I have red painted toe nails Smile

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 12:19

Oh and today I am wearing a maxi dress and havaina slim flip flops. But I am 41.5 weeks pregnant Grin

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 12:19

Yep, red toe nails here too Grin

AnyFucker · 27/03/2012 12:19

deck shoes are also whiffy without socks

and remind me of Hooray Henry sailing types in neckerchiefs

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 27/03/2012 12:20

Lamb - my DH just wears his boxers and maybe a t-shirt.

I think my hatred of dressing gowns, sandals etc goes back to childhood....my dad had this awful paisley silky dressing gown that he had at uni and was still wearing in his 50's - it was short and just blooming horrid bless him. He also wore jesus creeper sandals and he has the toe nails that would give you nightmares, they are dreadful!!! Not sure about my hatred of pj's but I shall blame him for that too :)

AnyFucker · 27/03/2012 12:20

dolly, you are excused

maxi dresses are manna from heaven for the pg lady, i wish they been around when I was the size of a house Smile

AwkwardMary · 27/03/2012 12:20

Yes AF I don't want to give the impression that I am against cheapo clothes as a rule....I am currently sporting a top that cost 6 quid! BUT....yes...cheap maxi dresses in that paper thin printed fabric are just baaaaadd....especially in Morrisons!

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 12:21

DH also wears deck shoes, I'm not doing very well here am I?! They are nice soft expensive leather ones mind you Wink

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 12:21

Phew, thanks AF Smile

squoosh · 27/03/2012 12:22

Another thing I hate 'consults miles long list' is men, chubby, middle aged men wearing full football kits. Jersey, shorts, socks, the lot.

What the hell is that all about? Yes you love your team and yes you look like a simpleton hoping people will mistake you and your big beer gut for a professional footballer?

Lambzig · 27/03/2012 12:22

My toes were painted pillar box red within 48 hours of us splitting up! I also bought my first pair of strapppy sandals in 5 years.

Now unfortunately my DH doesn't like the red much either, so I tend to go for pink.

Perhaps I am attracted to men with weird feet phobias.

AnyFucker · 27/03/2012 12:23

some cheap versions of things are perfectly fine ... (gazes at asda slippers and h+m cardi)

some are not

cheapo maxi dresses are not, cheapo flip flips are not

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 27/03/2012 12:24

Oh dear, I often paint my toenails red and wear flip-flops in locations other than the beach ...

My DP has nice feet so he can wear whatever sandals he likes. Generally it depends on the foot; women sometimes have ugly ones as well as men, and some men have nice feet. I actually quite like the sight of an attractive young man with nice brownish legs, in some decent longish, slim-fitting shorts and a pair of Havaianas.

AnyFucker · 27/03/2012 12:24

lamb, I think you should paint your toes the colour you like, whenever you lie, whether you are in a relationship or not

AnyFucker · 27/03/2012 12:24

*like

Lambzig · 27/03/2012 12:25

I totally agree on the football kit unless you are playing football.

If we are going general men's sartorial crimes, may I add three quarter trousers on men. Particularly the combat trousery sort. Just get some shorts or wear proper length trousers. Make your mind up.

AnyFucker · 27/03/2012 12:26

oh yes, brown legs where the soft hairs have been bleached by the sun (on men)

< looks forward to holidays >

noddyholder · 27/03/2012 12:26

My ds and dp both wear deck/boat shoes! One 17 the other 51!

AwkwardMary · 27/03/2012 12:26

Lamb I have a mate with a love of wigs and her fella has a phobia of them! She is forced to keep her wig collection in the bottom of the wardrobe and now and then, she gets one out...she has names for them..she dons one and calls out "Dave.....oh Dave...Estella is here to see you!" and he RUNS AWAY screaming! Grin She's there in her blone bob or her red curls and he's white and sweating!

Lambzig · 27/03/2012 12:28

Anyfucker Oh dear that did sound a bit surrendered wife didn't it? I agree and do sometimes go with the red and DH doesnt comment, but I know he doesn't like it.
