My husband wanting all my salary

I have a part-time teaching job. My husband is very tight and controlling with our finances, and although we have a small mortgage, he doen't give me a penny...which is why I got a part-time job. I use my money to buy weekly food shops, kids clothes, breaks away and any school costs. If I use my own money to buy myself clothes, for example, he literally goes crazy. I am actually thinking of leaving as he threatening to put the mortgage/ electricity bill in my name so I can pay it, but the bank said he can't do this. I am so fed up.

They can come after you but the courts don't like to tread on each others toes so it's highly unusual that if the court in the UK agrees something that the NZ court would over rule it so maybe go straight to a solicitor as soon as you get to the UK and get something formalised.
I'm no expert but I have been through this with Australia and believe me once you are back in the UK it's very expensive to do anything at all from over there.

But does the Hague Convention not exist to protect the best interests of the child?

It may well do but it's enforcing it that's virtually impossible, I got to the High Court and the case got dropped because the other side relented, signed the paperwork and now I might as well wipe my arse with it. £60k spent on legal fees and it's worthless.
