and have suffered health consequences that could have been prevented by breastfeeding?

OP posts:

I wonder if I could sue my parents for not encouraging me to go to uni thus limiting my current earning potential....

MrsHeffley · 15/03/2012 22:15

Also every mother makes selfish decisions every day as only the barking mad would wish to sacrifice themselves on the alter of motherhood.

Now today my selfish decisions were to stick cakes left over from the bake sale covered in crap into the dc's lunchboxes instead of homemade granola bars fortified with 100 minerals I didn't get up at 5am to bake.

I also partook in a spot of Mumsnetting and let the kids crash in front of CBBC after school and work instead of sitting down with the dc to do some educational activities.

wigglesrock · 15/03/2012 22:15

Oh I wasn't failed by any Health professionals, I chose to ff my 3dcs. Woman of 37 makes a choice not to breastfeed - shocker.

And as a previous poster has mentioned, I feel guilty about missing dd1s first sports day a few years ago, how I fed her five years ago doesn't even cause me to blink.

goonies · 15/03/2012 22:21

You know how you can hide posts, can you hide pathetic posters too?

I have never known any body to go through life with how they were first fed printed on Thier forehead?

Ironic what gets deleted and what doesn't

Sparklingbrook · 15/03/2012 22:24

Goodnight. Hope this has gone 'poof' by morning. Sad

Minshu · 15/03/2012 22:25

Breastfeeding was irrationally important to me at an emotional level while I was BFing DD (almost a year). I found my huge judgy pants riding up my arse about other people's FF choices and beat myself during a period of mixed feeding.

I regained some sanity / perspective once my milk dried up - perhaps the oxytocin hit does something funny to us?

buttonmoon78 · 15/03/2012 22:26

[too many extremes] Blush

Moominsarescary · 15/03/2012 22:26

I don't think my eldest (17) even knows how I fed him

exoticfruits · 15/03/2012 22:32

The moral of the story is never tell your DC how they were fed as a baby!

pigletmania · 15/03/2012 22:33

Op can we sue you for an absolutely dreadful and stupid thread!

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 15/03/2012 22:34

I can't think of a single medical condition that is 100% guaranteed prevented by bfing. Perhaps you should be suing whoever told you that misguided bollocks.

fazsaeed · 15/03/2012 22:35

Like crowface said what about mums like me?
Medically can't do it? My lo was allergic and had problems sucking too. So who do I sue?

exoticfruits · 15/03/2012 22:35

OPs mother should just have told her that she was breastfed for the first 2 yrs and she would be happy-and none the wiser.

Portofino · 15/03/2012 22:35

Well my mum died when I was 4. And I have no idea how she fed me. I am however, alive and consider myself to be a well balanced individual with no health problems. She got cancer though - aged 19. Shit isn't it.

OriginalJamie · 15/03/2012 22:35

Hmm possibly OP was bf and it prevented her from having A Clue?

OriginalJamie · 15/03/2012 22:37

faz - sue your child, clearly. Little blighter

exoticfruits · 15/03/2012 22:37

If parents are going to be sued they need to keep silent on anything before the DC can remember.

pigletmania · 15/03/2012 22:38

Op as for comparing ff to smoking, how stupid can you get. Thanks for making mums who have struggled with bf 10 times better with your thoughtless, stupid and ill thought out thread.

Biscuit
pigletmania · 15/03/2012 22:39

obviously being bf did you no favours in terms of intelligence!

FluffyBunnyWunnyMummyKins · 15/03/2012 22:40

My brother and I are the healthiest people I know, no allergies, never ill and both achieved top grades at school and uni. My mother never even tried to breastfeed either of us so I frankly couldn't care less. Enjoy your bitterness though, OP. Grin

MrsHeffley · 15/03/2012 22:43

Also given that most mums try it and therefore know how bloody painful, exhausting and stressful it can be I doubt many would even judge their mother let alone sue.
