to wonder what my next door neighbours are doing?

They bought the house before christmas, they haven't moved in but spend a couple of hours there every evening and then go, sometimes they stay there at weekends. There are several cars and vans parked on the driveway and down the road, always the same ones. There has been a massive 4x4 the last couple of evenings on the driveway.
The house is only about 10 years old and the lady that lived there before was very clean and tidy so I can't imagine it's so bad they can't move in for 3 months.
It seems a bit dodgy to me, if you see them outside they don't say hello or make eye contact at all.

What do you think they are doing?

Painting and decorating?

My imaginations running riot. Porn films? Brothel?

Have you peered through the windows when they are not in?

But most people surely would live there while decorating, and seriously it was fine before anyway!?

I know it's nothing to do with me really, I'm just being nosy and letting my imagination run riot!

Have a look through the window while they are out!

I've tried to but their windows are all high up...

We didn't live in our house for months whilst decorating. Depends on their circumstances. We happily lived at parents house whilst all the work was going on. The house was fine also, just not to our taste! They'll no doubt speak to you when they move in :)

Gawd I'd never live in a house I was decorating if I could help it.

Normally you'd see stuff going into or out of the house though if they are decorating.

Maybe they have drilled into your walls and installed cameras?

Perhaps they bought it as an investment (the foold#s!) in a declining market?

There was someone on the news a while back who rented out his house while he was travelling or working abroad or something and the people renting it never moved in but turned every room into a cannabis factory.

Then they scarpered, having paid no rent and having wrecked his house.

Do you have any access to that thermal infrared equipment OP? If their house is glowing you will know what they are up to

Incidentally a mirror on a broomstick can get round the high up windows issue (just saying)

The people who bought the house across from us did exactly this sort of thing. Spent a good 4 months doing the house up, including replacing the kitchen & bathroom (and the old units they dragged out onto the driveway looked fine) before moving in.

And we still don't get much in the way of eye contact or hellos a year on....
