To ring the council and ask them to deal with this

Some c**t has kindly allowed their dog to shit on the corner outside our house- a route commonly used by kids going to school/oldies on their merry way. I cant bring myself to move someone elses dogs shit nor should I have to but I dont want it sat outside the house being trod in and walked all around the neighbourhood. WIBU to ring the council and ask them to sort this environmental health risk as tbh im fucking fuming

The cats that shit all over my parking space, in my plant pots and on my patio don't seem to know they are supposed to bury it!

I find it hard to believe that anyone is too "tittle-stomached" not to pick up a dog turd where it is very likely to be trod on - just common sense to me. Yes, the Council have a duty no doubt, but it will be everywhere before they arrive to sort it out.

fuzzywuzzy · 05/03/2012 10:19

Cat pooh is it's own problem, I had a litter tray for our cat and she crapped in only that (I know she did as she stayed indoors), which was dealt with.

People with pets should take responsiblity for them not expect everyone else to be shovelling shit becasue they choose to have a pet.

As for bins I have picked those up in the past, that's not done on purpose, a bin being blown over is not the same as a dog owner allowing their pet to shit outside a persons house and then walk off leaving the crap behind.

PoppyAmex · 05/03/2012 10:19

Dude, you really need to relax.

Why would you post on a board asking if YBU, if you are ready to explode at the slightest comment from people that don't agree with you?

Really hope this is the worst thing that happens in your life this week, because I fear you wouldn't cope with a real issue. Not good for your blood pressure.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 10:19

No.

I would kick the dog up the arse mid-squeeze.

Superene · 05/03/2012 10:19

Is it still there or have you come to your senses and done the decent and obvious thing?

in (some sort of weird) defence of the OP, though

sometimes when you've got a lot of stress in your life, something like this is enough to tip you over the edge...are you still frothing, OP

want another Brew?

YouOldSlag · 05/03/2012 10:22

OP- I totally agree with you.

Where we live, dog mess was the number one gripe that all council taxpayers had. It topped every single poll by a mile and now the council are acting on it. They are putting new Dog Control Orders in place and increasing fines. if you report it, they will clean it. Only 25% of residents are dog owners, yet the top gripe for ALL respondents was dog mess.

If people reported every dog turd, yes it would use up resources, but it would force the council to see what a big problem it is.

I don't agree that it's your job or your responsibility (although I would have angrily poured boiling water/bleach over it by now, swearing at the dog owner under my breath and vowing revenge).

If people won't clean up their dog mess they should not have a dog. Apologies to all responsible and considerate dog owners out there.

musicismylife · 05/03/2012 10:22

'What a waste of tax payers' money'.

Pick it up. You're acting like your shit don't stink!!!

Scholes34 · 05/03/2012 10:22

Do we also ring the Council when there's fox poo on the pavement?

Scholes34 · 05/03/2012 10:23

I thought the number one gripe of council tax payers was the amount of council tax they have to pay?

southeastastra · 05/03/2012 10:25

some really intelligent posts on here Grin

the council are paid to deal with it. there is an act to give them more power to fine people who break the law

is that so hard to understand?

LilacWaltz · 05/03/2012 10:25

Bird poo?

Do we also ring the Council when there's fox poo on the pavement?

This is what I asked upthread scholes

I don't understand how anyone can spot the difference between fox poo and dog poo?

EauDeLaPoisson · 05/03/2012 10:26

Yes I have 'dealt' with it- ive reported it. Just as I wouldn't be cleaning up fifty odd black bags of fly tipped rubbish or moving a burned out car from outside my house.

OP posts:
IwishIwasmoreorganised · 05/03/2012 10:27

I don't think that YABU for calling the council, but if it was outside of my house I would just clean it up myself rather than inconvenience myself and our dc with avoiding the mess every time we went in or out of our house.

I have rung our council in the past when there were several piles of poo outside of school (I don't have my rubber gloves and bucket of hot water with me on the school run!). It took them several days to come to clear it up - by then it had been trodden in / wheeled through so many times that there didin't appear to be as much of a problem.

LilacWaltz · 05/03/2012 10:27

southeastastra in this case there is nobody to fine.... They are long gone. No point quoting laws!!

southeastastra · 05/03/2012 10:27

fox poo should be reported to environmental health, would mean there is a problem with rubbish and that needs to be sorted cause that could eventually mean rats!

it's not hard to understand surely

EauDeLaPoisson · 05/03/2012 10:28

*southeastastra Mon 05-Mar-12 10:25:29

some really intelligent posts on here grin*

I know its quite hilarious really how people on here will still argue the toss when something quite clearly isn't your fault but because you post it on here you are automatically wrong and a barrage of nonsensical arguments/comparisons are trotted out.

OP posts:
southeastastra · 05/03/2012 10:29

yeah fuck the law Grin

YouOldSlag · 05/03/2012 10:29

Scholes- i'd be happy to pay a bit more for dog shit free streets round here. every single day I am dodging it with two kids and a pushchair. Sick of it

EauDeLaPoisson · 05/03/2012 10:29

Well I wouldn't be expecting the 'irresponsible fox owner' to deal with it now would I..... [bemused icon]

JaneMare · 05/03/2012 10:30

for Worra

you'd know the difference..

Flisspaps · 05/03/2012 10:30

musicismylife but even if their shit does stink, it's not likely to be stinking on the pavement is it?!
