To ring the council and ask them to deal with this

Some c**t has kindly allowed their dog to shit on the corner outside our house- a route commonly used by kids going to school/oldies on their merry way. I cant bring myself to move someone elses dogs shit nor should I have to but I dont want it sat outside the house being trod in and walked all around the neighbourhood. WIBU to ring the council and ask them to sort this environmental health risk as tbh im fucking fuming

I have said if it was a on going thing then yes report it but a one off is just crazy to get all uptight about.

Far more important things going on to get uptight about.

Superene · 05/03/2012 10:06

Oh get a life OP. And a bucket of hot water.
It seems that you are implying that you would never do something for the common good simply because it isn't your responsibility.
That is a bit sad IMO.

Pseudonymity · 05/03/2012 10:07

Some disgusting person was allowing their dog to shit on my path, twice I opened the front door to be greeted with a massive turd, right in the middle of our route into and out of the house. We obviously had to move it but after the second time I emptied a bottle of dettol there and poured on boiling water and gave it a scrub with a long broom. Hasn't happened since. If it really bothers you, you could take similar preventative action?

JaneMare · 05/03/2012 10:07

no-one has said you shouldn't care, OP, just care a bit for the people who are going to walk in it before the overstretched council workers turn up?

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 05/03/2012 10:07

No it means you should care less, it's just poo and you've rang the council. You won't deal with it so someone else will

Forget about it

IAmBooyhoo · 05/03/2012 10:08

well it boils down to what you consider more of a priority OP. is it more important to prevent the shit getting spread or is it more important that someone other than you moves it? (be that the council or someone stepping on it)

EauDeLaPoisson · 05/03/2012 10:10

Like what? Go round pouring dettol on every pavement just in case dogs crap on it?

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 10:10

It would piss me off though.

I do get why you are angry - but you did bark at people at the beginning of the thread.

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 05/03/2012 10:11

Now yabu op. and irrational.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 10:11

I am not saying you are the shitty dog btw Grin

EauDeLaPoisson · 05/03/2012 10:11

A friend of mine witnessed a lady letting her dog foul outside said friends house on several occasions. The next time she saw this lady walking up her road she went up to her and handed her a pack of nappybags. Dog woman was bemused and asked what they were for so my friend replied 'for picking your dog's shit up. And if I catch you not picking it up again I'll start posting it through your letter box. Got it?'
Dog lady was very Blush but she picked the dog mess up.

EauDeLaPoisson · 05/03/2012 10:11

Great minds

EauDeLaPoisson · 05/03/2012 10:13

I never shit on my own doorstep Grin

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 05/03/2012 10:13

cats bury their pooh, they will shit in gardens or grassy areas not pavements.

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 05/03/2012 10:13

See, now I agree with that!

LilacWaltz · 05/03/2012 10:14

Yeah, and kids then walk on the grass.....

Flisspaps · 05/03/2012 10:17

One council in London has a special motorbike to deal with dog poo (I shit you not) - its got a special vacuum to suck up the poo and then a little disinfectant sprayer that they blast the spot with to
clean the path.

It's a shame it's had to be invented at all, if the lazy bastards walking their dogs carried bags and scooped the poo, them put the bag in a bin it wouldn't be needed at all, the OP wouldn't be fucked off and the world would be nicer. There was something on BBC1 a whole back, some non was bagging poo when he walked his dog but then threw the bags into trees - there were hundreds of the things, festooning this whole area of trees with poo-filled piñata. It cost them £100s to clear up as they had to get cherry pickers in to reach the bags, but I think they caught and prosecuted the offender. Dirty bastard. Just use a bin.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 10:17

I remember saying on a dog shit thread (!) some time ago that if I saw a crapping dog I would run and kick it up the arse.

I was FLAAAAMED by valhalla and other dog house regs. Grin

scrablet · 05/03/2012 10:17

We are having that problem round here just now OP, and it drives me mad. Dog poo in the middle of the fairly narrow pavements most days, pushchairs spreading it,etc. I threw out a pair of shoes which I had trod on some in only recently (was dark when I stood on it!)
Have thought of putting up a notice on lampost saying council have been informed and are watching street. Saves bothering council in first instance, but maybe make shitty owner think? I know I shouldn't have to do it, and I don't blame the dog. And I feel sorry for the responsible owners who do pick up.
I have a cat, but he is litter trained and never goes out, so I know who picks up his poo...Sad
And I would say YANBU.

Flisspaps · 05/03/2012 10:18

fuzzywuzzy the cats that shit on my driveway definitely don't bury it.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 05/03/2012 10:18

This thread has spurred me into reporting the back yard bungalow dwelling wankers who park their grotty scooter up the arse of my OH's car.
It has no tax on it.
They park it so close to OH's disabilty bay that we cant get the boot open.

Thank you.

JaneMare · 05/03/2012 10:18

would you wait 'til it had finished, GetOrf? Grin

GetOrfMoiiLand · 05/03/2012 10:18

lolol at 'I shit you not' Grin

musicismylife · 05/03/2012 10:18

So, OP, if you know it is the Council's job to pick up the dog turd, why on earth have you started a thread about it?
