to think that this way of labelling toilets in a pub is just wrong

went to a new pub the other day. Headed off to the toilets to be confronted with one door saying "Men" and the other saying "Not Men"

i mean... you're either a man or you're defined by not being one.

Meant to remark on it to the chap behind the bar but decided I'd probably had one too many girly shandies.

YANBU. Yuck.

I was in a pub at the weekend that's had the loos labelled as "fannys" and "dicks" - made me chuckle and blush at the same time.

Shutupanddrive · 27/02/2012 16:50

Yabu, I think it's quite funny

ifancyashandy · 27/02/2012 16:54

"Truth is, while all these things can be dismissed as trivial in themselves, they add up and leave us wading through a flood of misogyny which is exhausting and depressing to deal with on a daily basis before we even start on the 'important' issues."

That. YANBU.

Ok, so not offensive at all, just really daft :o

Bogeyface · 27/02/2012 17:49

DD just said that Edward and Bella would be better but she is 14, what do you expect? o

Bogeyface · 27/02/2012 17:49

:o

ScatterChasse · 27/02/2012 18:00

Ooh, I like gulls and bouys.

I wouldn't like those signs, but at least they're true unlike Ladies and Gentlemen after 5 pints.

StealthPenguin · 27/02/2012 18:37

It's better than "Dillies and Danglies". Or "Innies and Outies" for that matter. I could think of worse...

FilterCoffee · 27/02/2012 18:48

Signs which are not very obvious aren't really fair on any non-English-speaking visitors who might happen to be in the pub. If abroad I don't think I'd appreciate loos entitled anything other than the obvious, in a foreign language!

homemadewhine · 27/02/2012 18:55

On my first day at work I noticed doors marked "L" and "G"

my boss told me they were toilets marked "lads" and "girls"

oh the shame when I went in the "girls" Grin
