To want to poke that Milla from Junior Doctors: Your life in their hands...

Oh my goodness I dislike her so much...nearly as much as that perfect Priya. The way she bloody talks and acts...Argh..

Would I be unreasonable to want to poke her in the head with my finger?

If no one knows what I'm on about, then I seriously recommend this programme. It's on BBC3 every Tuesday at 9pm.

You seriously recommend it? Grin

nobodyspecial · 22/02/2012 16:18

Yea man - seriously. Peace out.

Although the way she talks is a bit OTT I think she actually seems to be doing quite a good job. She seemed quite on top of things and good with patients on this week's episode. Not sure I feel the same about Priya who seems a bit out of her depth and REALLY needs to tie her hair back!

AgentZigzag · 22/02/2012 16:24

Agree about the ridiculous way Milla talks and that Priya needs to tie her hair back.

But how lovely are Priyas family??

I wish someone would make me a six year supply of all that lovely food to bung in the freezer like they do every time they see her!

Pickgo · 22/02/2012 16:26

She certainly doesn't need in any training in developing a condescending bedside manner!

OTH it must be very hard to be so socially superior to most of her patients.

Also that dermatology shit looked like anyone could do it Grin

nobodyspecial · 22/02/2012 16:26

I KNOW!! I was actually shouting at the TV telling her to tie her hair back when she was draining that abcess in the armpit!! She could of got pus in it!

But yes, Milla is doing a good job, it's just the way she talks is SO annoying. I would laugh at her if she was my doctor!

I think she chose dermatology just so she can flaunt her good skin infront of the patients...Grin

I hate the way all the girls cart their handbags around all day. And dermatology is the perfect choice for posh gels as they can make tons of lovely cash in private practice.

lottiegb · 22/02/2012 17:58

Ah, clearly I am cruder than you. I thought the OP was going to be male and only clicked to see quite how lascivious the thread was, before it was deleted!

OldGreyWiffleTest · 22/02/2012 17:58

I think her heart's in the right place......AND she shares a house with Aki (lucky lady) !!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 22/02/2012 18:00

Aki is lovely. Milla is so posh it hurts. Not as good as the last series.

Salteena · 22/02/2012 18:05

Priya is known as Princess Tippytoes to DH and me....enjoying the show, though! Lucy (I think she's called) is great and comes across as v empathetic.

hattymattie · 22/02/2012 18:11

I think she's nice (Milla that is) it's not her fault she's posh and gorgeous! Priya seems the real princess although those home made curries look yummy. Did I miss an episode or is there one boy we hardly ever see.

KurriKurri · 22/02/2012 18:15

I warmed to her last night (still haven't managed to warm to Priya the whinger who can't do bloods but keeps trying even when the patient is screaming Grin)

I though Milla did show a reassuring level of competence, and she was pleasant to the patients.

Lucy is fab and will be a wonderful Doctor whatever specialism she chooses.

I think I read on here somewhere that they have to carry handbags about because you've got stuff you have to take around, and you're constantly on the move.

Aki is far too gorgeous for anyone but Meeeeeeeeeee. Grin

KurriKurri · 22/02/2012 18:16

There is a boy we never see, - not sure why Confused

KurriKurri · 22/02/2012 18:16

and another boy we haven't seen very much of, the shy one - forgotten his name -Amir maybe?

KurriKurri · 22/02/2012 18:17

No Samir

nobodyspecial · 22/02/2012 18:26

no sameer got a tiny part last week when that well spoken druggie wanted codiene 300mg and wouldn't answer questions about his past! Was very funny!

There is definitely another boy we never see - he went with sameer to that live apollo thing..

I absolutely adore Aki - he's briliiant! and Amieth is hilarious, as is Andy!

Without lockers and often having to work on many wards on a single day means that junior doctors have a lot to carry around - wallet, phone, pager, patient lists, pens, the BNF (drug formulary) and some carry the Oxford Handbook of Medicine too. Men seem to be able to fit most of it in their pockets.

I think this series shows how poorly equipped for house jobs current medical degrees leave junior doctors. Certainly I felt extremely underprepared for being on the ward - particularly the organisational side, dealing with aggressive patients and performing cannulation (which I'd only done on pre-op patients before, not people who's veins were old and tired from weeks of drips). I feel this is an area that really needs picking up on in medical education, both for the quality of care for patients and the sanity of first year doctors.

laluna · 22/02/2012 22:09

Agree with the PP; I think there is a huge gap between the training and requirements of the job.

Can't believe that Milla carries her bits around in a £1500 Chanel Handbag!

southeastastra · 22/02/2012 22:19

they are all pretty stereotypical aren't they

samir (who wants to be an anaesthetist?) really shouldn't be let loose on the public yet

nobodyspecial · 22/02/2012 23:09

The guy who wants to be an anaesthetist (Amieth) nearly gave a patient morphine as first line of painkiller...I wouldn't want him treating me!

Also, the fact none of them can take bloods or insert cannulas properly is why I never trust a doctor to take my bloods. They start fishing around trying to find blood. I'd rather a nurse or phlebotomist do it.

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 22/02/2012 23:20

Has anyone noticed that the doctors this year sharing the house don't seem to gel as well as the ones on last years' series did? There seem to be a fair few "looks" and a bit of eye rolling at each other this year. I nearly did a thread about it last night...

nobodyspecial · 22/02/2012 23:25

I don't think any of them like Milla. Don't blame them. That last scene when she was thanking them for coming to her charity ball (really?!!) was just awkward.

OddBoots · 22/02/2012 23:26

Oh Priya, I couldn't believe it when she'd tied her hair back to go visit her family yet she keeps it down at work.
