Oh my goodness I dislike her so much...nearly as much as that perfect Priya. The way she bloody talks and acts...Argh..

Would I be unreasonable to want to poke her in the head with my finger?

If no one knows what I'm on about, then I seriously recommend this programme. It's on BBC3 every Tuesday at 9pm.

The other week they were all sitting in the kitchen and Milla came in talking about eating a packet of jaffa cakes on the way home and there was much eye rolling.

I think she's ok, although she probably is a nightmare to live with

I used to work with someone like Milla which is why I dislike her so much. I just hate it when people over-sex their vocabulary and act all lovey dovey. She looks like a stroker...the girl I worked with was a stroker too. She'd come and stand next to you and start stroking your arm as she talked to you.....

patronisong snob

pryia is annoying too, doesnt really connect with patients. And moaning tired when first comes on shift - did you see the look the nurse gave her?

Tranquilidade · 22/02/2012 23:40

I am stunned at some of the changes since I worked in hospitals, I don't understand how the handbags aren't a huge risk re infection control and don't get me started on the hair..................!

I commented to my daughter tonight that I was concerned that I found Milla and Priya so unimpressive and was wondering if it was me, them or the editing responsible! I do think Lucy stands out though as being the best.

I love watching! My DD1 is a med student and the realisation that very soon she will be one of these young docs is overwhelming...

But my DD's medic friends are a wayyyy funnier bunchGrin

mrswoodentop · 22/02/2012 23:59

Is she living on the house ,she foesseem to be part time!

hopkin · 23/02/2012 00:47

God, Priya is ghastly. Didn't particularly like the way she spoke to her mother at the dinner table.

Salteena · 23/02/2012 08:25

Yes, that 'serve me first!' business - jokey but you felt it was somehow not quite kidding Hmm. And not bring able to park the car....

Notice the editing was all out of whack, after they made such a big thing of the white coats last week? They were all back to normal clothes, handbags and cascading hair this week.

pygmyangel · 23/02/2012 09:25

I love this but agree, Milla and Priya are unbelievable.

I preferred the last series though but that might be because I worked in one of the hospitals that was filmed in and had met some of the Doctors. The group on the last series were a lot more down to earth than this lot.

I think Milla is lovely. Yes she has a strong accent, but then so do a lot of people, there's no point in disliking someone for that. She seems very enthusiastic and on top of things, and she was just lovely with the patient who was in for coal tar treatment, it looked like she made his day by chatting to him and showing such interest in him. I was impressed when he said his psoriasis affected him "physically and mentally" and she followed up on the mental aspect, asking him how it affected him. He felt comfortable enough with her to tell her that his wife doesn't like to touch him - a lot of patients, particularly men, wouldn't admit that. Yes she is posh, but so what, she still seems to know her stuff. Disliking someone for being posh is odd.

CailinDana · 23/02/2012 09:35

Have to agree about Priya's hair though, if I got hold of her I'd forcibly give her the MN haircut!

Highlander · 23/02/2012 10:21

Priyanisngoing to end up in front of the GMC if she persists with her "I wish they (patients) would just understand that what I'm doing is for their benefit".

Seriously....... Informed consent, respecting a patients dignity and privacy seems to completely have escaped her.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 23/02/2012 10:24

I like Milla.

Priya however comes across as utterly self obsessed and like a 15 year old girl.

thefurryone · 23/02/2012 10:50

Milla is just so incredibly posh it hurts but she came across as being very good with her patients. I think it's just hard for less posh people to connect with someone who was inspired to follow a career in medicine because of "Mummy's amazing dermatologist".

Priya clearly struggling without the support of her family, she just needs to grow up a bit and stand on her own two feet.

I was also really surprised at how rubbish they were at simple proceedures, do they not get to practise those as medical students? They do on ER Smile

I was also wondering if everyone gets interviewed for a medical degree, there are clearly some very bright people doing the job but it isn't enough just to be academically good in order to be a good doctor.
