Parents night tonight - DS (Y5) 3rd academically in year group, on course for academic scholarship, on course for music scholarship, on course for art scholarship. Can't actually remember what games teacher said, but he got an A1 and is all the A teams.
I am absolutely on top of the world.

Well done to the lad, you are right to be proud.

WorraLiberty · 21/02/2012 22:00

Yaaaay! Well done him! Grin

It was my DS3's parents evening tonight too

He's doing really well and it does make you feel good doesn't it?

You're right to be proud.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 21/02/2012 22:00

Yay Go Gin's son!!

brilliant news. It is important to feel proud IMO

McHappyPants2012 · 21/02/2012 22:00

Well done to your son, I love hearing about children doing well :)

Snowboarder · 21/02/2012 22:01

Well done to your son wheresthegin , I know some people frown on celebrating academic achievements but I think that must have taken a lot of hard work!

CheesyWellingtons · 21/02/2012 22:01

Well done your son! Well done you too for providing him with the right environment/tools/home life etc.

cluffyfunt · 21/02/2012 22:02

Wow!

I would be shouting from the roof tops too!

Well done to your DS and to you too Grin

wheresthegin · 21/02/2012 22:03

It makes me want to cry with happiness!!!!
It's not easy for us to fund his education, but when we hear this it really does make it worth while. I feel all tingly!!!
I think we all need a group hug to congratulate everyone!!!!

OP posts:
CheesyWellingtons · 21/02/2012 22:03

Our of interest, will you tell anyone if he does get scholarships? I'm never entirely sure what is the 'done thing' in that situation - to keep completely quiet or tell one or two close friends.

Jojay · 21/02/2012 22:06

He sounds awesome. Well done him Smile

And you Grin

PeanutButterChocolate · 21/02/2012 22:06

That's fantastic! I bet you're glowing with pride; I know I would be!

Well done to your DS and well done to you Smile

sodapops · 21/02/2012 22:09

Oooh well done to your DS wheresthegin.

Can I have a little brag?

DS(15) has been picked to go to a 3 day residential Science masterclass at Cambridge University as he is a gifted scientist! He is going with a few others from his school for a one day course as well.

I'm over the moon for him, he really wants to be a doctor but didn't think he was clever enough. Hopefully this will give him a little boost!
