Ah but catghirl we'd have the Celtic Manor here 5 minute's away (where the local PTA meets... no joking!) and The Priory [http://www.thepriorycaerleon.co.uk/ here]] nigh on next door which is good enough for Samuel L Jackson and Bruce Willis so..... plus I get extra Good Parent points as there is a Roman museum opposite and a Roman baths down the road......

and frankly for the cost difference with OP I could rent The priory every weekend for a party LMAO

No :( but I remember that from when I was little and it was really good. (Or so I remember)

All they do now is Snowdrop walks and the occasional outdoor theatre event.

That sucks. They would have helicopter rides and cream teas and sponsered tug of wars and things, real classic village stuff!
