To think I don't need to book a resturant for this evening.

DC are all going on sleepovers. (Result!)

This morning I suggested to DH we could go out for a meal, as it's Valentines day. He suggested I book somewhere, but I can't decide where, so said I wouldn't bother booking and we could just rock up somewhere when I've made up my mind. I'm pretty sure on a Tuesday we wouldn't need to book.

DH started shouting "Yarboo, yarboo!" Which, turned out to mean. YABU.

YABU. It is Valentines Day. It doesn't matter that it is a a Tuesday. Restaurants will ramp up their prices too as demand will be so high.

Kayano · 14/02/2012 11:56

Yarboo lol!

LadySybilDeChocolate · 14/02/2012 11:56

ROFL!! You want to eat in McDonalds then? Grin

Thetokengirl · 14/02/2012 11:56

HahahahahaGrin
You are joking aren't you?

EchoBitch · 14/02/2012 11:57

Do you need to book at MacDonalds now?

WorraLiberty · 14/02/2012 11:57

Are you out of your mind? Grin

It's the busiest day of the year in restaurants across the country.

Even if by some tiny smidgen of a chance you managed to get in on a cancellation, you'll probably be crammed up against the wall on a table near the toilet.

Get some nice food from Marks and Sparks or something and save yourself the stress.

BetsyBoop · 14/02/2012 11:57

YABVU anywhere decent will have been booked out weeks ago...

betterwhenthesunshines · 14/02/2012 11:58

YABU - restaurants will be full of people going out just because it's V Day.

Do something special at home, nice wine ( at a third of the price you'd pay out) pick an easy cook meal or a supermarket special no-cook range. Make the house nice, good music, no kids, fresh sheets on the bed... Much more relaxing at home.

trixie123 · 14/02/2012 11:58

wind up surely?

ObiWan · 14/02/2012 11:59

Don't book. Just don't go out. You will be surrounded by loved up teenagers trying to impress with over-priced meals and flowers.

Anywhere worth going to will have been booked up ages ago.

Order a takeaway and make sure you have decent wine.

Your husband might be getting a bit too Mumsnetty, if he's actually saying YABU, by the way Grin.

As long as you have no objection to hamburgers, you'll be fine.

tabulahrasa · 14/02/2012 12:00

I had dinner in a morisson's cafe one valentine's day - that was pretty quiet...

HeidiHole · 14/02/2012 12:01

hahah good joke. I'm sure you can rock up at McDonalds though. Anywhere else? BOOK!

Groovee · 14/02/2012 12:03

IUseTooMuchKitchenRoll · 14/02/2012 12:12

mojitomania · 14/02/2012 12:15

It's a total rip off out there on Valentines. So I vote for staying in etc. But if you want to eat out best to book OP Grin

Bossybritches22 · 14/02/2012 12:17

Your DH can be very smug as YABvvvvvvU only the U is unrealistic rather than unreasonable.

You might get in at 6-ish when they open but unlikely.

The M&S offer looks nice!

OTheHugeManatee · 14/02/2012 12:24

Hahahahahaha Grin

LadySybilDeChocolate · 14/02/2012 12:40

Your options are:

Burger King
Mc Donalds
Pizza hut (at a push)
Local fish and chip shop
Wetherspoons (bleugh)

You could always phone around on the off chance there's a table. Good luck!
