To think I don't need to book a resturant for this evening.

DC are all going on sleepovers. (Result!)

This morning I suggested to DH we could go out for a meal, as it's Valentines day. He suggested I book somewhere, but I can't decide where, so said I wouldn't bother booking and we could just rock up somewhere when I've made up my mind. I'm pretty sure on a Tuesday we wouldn't need to book.

DH started shouting "Yarboo, yarboo!" Which, turned out to mean. YABU.

I actually think you are all wrong.

I am going to do my hair and put on something half decent and drag DH out.

I will report back.

You do need to book, definitely.

About 20 years ago, when DH and I were still starry eyed and did things on Valentines day, we tried to go out for a meal. After about the 10th restaurant said "sorry, we're full", we went and ordered a takeaway. However, that also took about 3 times as long as usual, so we eventually ate at about 10.30.
Good luck, I'll come back tomorrow and see how it went Smile

I actually LOL'd at yarboo! I will be saying it from now on!

We accidentally went to Pizza Hut on Valentine's Day one (we were oblivious to what date it was, just didn't have anything in for dinner so decided to go out for pizza), and it was fine, no busier than usual really.

Anywhere posh/nice/grown-up will be fully booked though, I'm sure. You might be better off having a nice romantic dinner at home?

Ephiny · 14/02/2012 13:37

Or, to put it more concisely: Yarboo, yarboo!

TheOneWithTheHair · 14/02/2012 13:39

Hahaha. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

Mallinky · 14/02/2012 13:44

Is OP on about a valentines lunch? In that case, my attitude would be the same as hers.

Yaarnboo! Yaarnboo!

Mallinky · 14/02/2012 13:45

Duh! Should read the title again!

YArboo!

OTheHugeManatee · 14/02/2012 13:47

DP and I just rang round a whole load of places and have decided to eat chez moi. Which suits me fine Grin

Butkin · 14/02/2012 14:34

Don't think I'd want to eat in a restaurant that wasn't already fulled booked. It would surely shout that there was apathy towards it.

BigFatHeffalump · 14/02/2012 14:58

Yarbooooo. How did you find sleep overs for all your kids on a Tuesday? Confused

LynetteScavo · 15/02/2012 08:17

It's half tern, BigFatHeffalump.

Well, it seems IWBR Grin

We went to get a DVD, and drove past one half empty restaurant, which DH explained by saying "all the tables are reserved for 8 o'clock bookings" Hmm DH was so convinced we wouldn't get a table anywhere we went to get a takeaway from the best Indian restaurant in town, and guess what? They had a very nice table waiting for us. It was Saturday night busy, so all the tables seemed full, but it was only a case of one couple in, one couple out, not ridiculously busy.

And yes, almost everybody else eating was young and trying to impress their partner.
