Won't someone think of the cats Sad

Dustinthewind · 14/02/2012 11:00

She doesn't get on with her daughter, the girl has been living with you since September as far as I recall. She does, however, get on with and love her cats. I don't see the problem? The cats are more important to her.
Have you decided to let GF and DS live in your house forever?

CreamolaFoamless · 14/02/2012 11:00

I am actually quite offended !

not proper offended , but a slight niggle !

she'll let her daughter live with me for six months and hasn't even once been to see the house where her daughter is living ,and then says no the cats cant go there !

OK I see.

But I think that pursuing the Mother as a route to resolve your current issues will prove futile.

As another poster says, your only jurisdiction really lies with your son, so if you're not happy with things as they are, the only way you can change the situation starts and finishes with him.

catgirl1976 · 14/02/2012 11:02

the cats only have the girlfriends mothers version of events to go off.

they can't be expected to have an informed opinion. they don't have all the facts

SarahStratton · 14/02/2012 11:02

Wouldn't it be better if your son and his girlfriend stayed at her Mum's house to look after the cats? And you changed the sodding locks whilst they are there.

OrmIrian · 14/02/2012 11:04

" freeloading cats"? Are there any other kind? Grin

tabulahrasa · 14/02/2012 11:10

I'm now trying to think of things that would make me move my cats rather than have somebody feed them in my house while I was away.

I can't really think of anything, because if everyone I've ever met within travelling distance of my house has the plague or has been killed by some sort of earthquake - I'm guessing it's not so likely that I'm off on holiday...

I suppose if we were running away from zombies, I'd take them with me rather than leave them behind, but that doesn't really count because I'd not be leaving them at someone elses house.

TroublesomeEx · 14/02/2012 11:11

Grin ha no of course there are no other kind of cat!

CreamolaFoamless · 14/02/2012 11:14

initally when tiw 'debbie has to to London ' thing came up I did think great

DS1 and his girlfriend will go there for a week.

But apparently it feels , cold and unwelcoming there now Confused

so I said bring the cats ......

but now her mum doesnt want the cat brung

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 14/02/2012 11:15

I think you the cats and everyone should have a meeting

Lueji · 14/02/2012 11:18

Cats don't like being away from their home. it's actually best if someone feeds them in their home.

what is your problem?

The girl is 18 FGS she doesnt need her mum to check on where she lives.

ViviPru · 14/02/2012 11:18

What's Debbie planning to do with the Moggies if they're not coming to yours?

CreamolaFoamless · 14/02/2012 11:19

her mum has said (to DS1's girfriend) not me ......'If the cats go I have no-one'

i can really see where she is coming from on this , however, I would have thought that see might have been more concerned about her daughter

usualsuspect · 14/02/2012 11:23

Serious now , the cats will be better off in their own house

Dustinthewind · 14/02/2012 11:23

So would the GF.

squeakytoy · 14/02/2012 11:25

"Provide her with a menu for her beasts "

I read that as breasts Confused

squeakytoy · 14/02/2012 11:27

Her daughter is an adult who can feed, look after, and rehome herself.. as she has so easily proved.. Grin..

Her cats on the otherhand, have no ability to import their beds into another home of their own freewill...

YuleingFanjo · 14/02/2012 11:28

send the GF and son down to where the cats are.

usualsuspect · 14/02/2012 11:29

I dunno about that squeaky , I had a cat once that buggered off to live with some people up the road Grin

ViviPru · 14/02/2012 11:29

So now Debbie's guilttripping her daughter about the cats leaving her house while she is away because then she will have no-one?

This all sounds like a world of storm in a teacup / kitchen sink drama / that I'm glad is no part of my life and you should extricate yourself from forthwith.

ViviPru · 14/02/2012 11:29

rehome herself Grin

squeakytoy · 14/02/2012 11:30

usual Grin did he take his bed though?
