AIBU to feel upset that a well known journo sent me a shirty tweet?

I follow someone who I find amusing and likeable but recently tweeted her for giving away the ending to a series on telly (watching on sky+).
We've exchanged many tweets over the years and I sent a low key grumble but got a nasty lob back.
Ffs- I've felt all snubbed all week. Am I daft?

OP posts:
DodieSmith · 10/02/2012 23:18

Oh dear, is he? Maybe I should Google.

animula · 10/02/2012 23:18

Yes - wood pigeon tweet def. a case of postcard being sent to the wrong person.

siane - back to your OP - I have to admit I'm one of those who likes twitter because it means I can find out the ending to things before I read/watch them. but I know that's a "thing" of mine - I always read the endings of books first - I hate surprises.
I didn't realise it was bad tweet-e-quette to reveal the endings of things at all.

India Knight's Remembrance of things Past is the smell of Weight Watchers Carrot Cake Slice

animula · 10/02/2012 23:20

Calatalie - you've made me laugh and cringe at the same time. That's the sort of thing that requires more flexibility than I have if it's not going to produce indigestion/muscle sprain.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 10/02/2012 23:20

was it twat? dodie he wrote a really funny column about googling himself, and how it felt to see the immortal line 'tim dowling, for example, is a twat'.

now on what sort of a website might he have seen that?

Merrylegs · 10/02/2012 23:22

I think India Knight is good short -she works well on twitter because she can write pithy. But have just read her book, Comfort and Joy. ye gods, it was horrid. She can not do long.

(Am interested in this thread - I have just signed up to Twitter. I am not following India but am following Claire Balding. From this I know she and India have just been to a Penguin conference together and shared a room. And Claire has a cricked neck. Twitter's not really started to happen for me.)

CalatalieSisters · 10/02/2012 23:22

Lol at the proustian carrot cake.

Here is my very great claim to fame: I tweeted Tim Dowling a link to a talking dog on youtube, and the next week he wrote a column about a talking dog.

It just doesn't get any better than that.

swanker · 10/02/2012 23:23

Merrylegs- I think it works best if you steer clear of slebs, and chat to friends/acquaintances instead.

swanker · 10/02/2012 23:24

Oh Calatalie! Fantastic... Grin

CalatalieSisters · 10/02/2012 23:24

Tim Dowling, for example, is a twat.

DodieSmith · 10/02/2012 23:26

I can't work twitter out at all.

animula · 10/02/2012 23:26

I think the Proustian slim-line carrot cake;s a goer, Swanker: def. possibilities for a post-chick lit novel through a ravaged landscape of early twenty-first century (female) alienation, unfulfimlment, shattered hopes and loss. I like it.

Merrylegs - follow some mn-ers and friends.

DodieSmith · 10/02/2012 23:28

You see, I think he's being funny there.

MaMowcher · 10/02/2012 23:29
  1. I read the OP as "sending sweaty shirts"
  2. Aitch, I tweeted in agreement with you and your EK challenge. I wasn't a Mner then
AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 10/02/2012 23:33

did you? how brilliant, thanks. i don't think i would have seen that, would i? funny wee woman that she is.

fabulous work re talking dog, cat. and lolol at tim dowling's 'i'm the twat you name when you need an example'. Grin

MaMowcher · 10/02/2012 23:35

Yes, you did! You tweeted me in then followed me. I followed back. I was veh new to twitter and delighted! Your pic was Fizz in labour Grin

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 10/02/2012 23:37

lol, did i? were you one of the people who said you were going to unfollow her? i was new to twitter too, think it was literally the first evening i had given it a proper shot. imagine my surprise, then, to bump up against EK being so odd. Hmm

i can't get the hang of it at all, actually. it's so messy.

swanker · 10/02/2012 23:40

Ha! My 'twitter Who to follow' tonight is... Caitlin Moran Hmm

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 10/02/2012 23:42

she is v funny, i think. and her retweets are generally of good quality. most comedians though seem to limit themselves to 'THANK YOU BRISTOL CORN EXCHANGE you were AMAZING'.

MaMowcher · 10/02/2012 23:45

Yep, EK was rather obnoxious. I tweeted you that I agreed with you for challenging her "fucktard". She was so fucking condescending to you, I couldn't let it lie (sadly I didn't know about @ ing etc)

MotherMucca · 10/02/2012 23:54
Blush
AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 10/02/2012 23:55

WHY IS MOTHER MUCCA BLUSHING? Shock

are you EK? IK?

MotherMucca · 11/02/2012 00:01

No! I was embarrassed about droning on re: twitter encounter. MaMowcher was my Dickens nc.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 11/02/2012 00:06

gotcha. Grin
