...to be a bit peeved about DH taking a day off work for his best mate's bday?

I probably am, but thought I'd Ask Mumsnet anyway.
DH is taking a day off this week for his best friend's birthday. Aw, lovely.
But...he didn't bother to do this with mine, even though I asked him (had a 5wk old DD and 19mo old DS at the time and some help would have been nice...)
He's pretty busy at work atm and is working late all this week to be able to take the time off.

I think I am probably really jealous. There is an evening do too, haven't been invited as I am "tied to the baby". (frIend's words, not mine)

not so wild, CN Sad

it's been known for male friends not to be a "friend of the marriage" as it were

especially those that act "weird" around the female partner and start excluding them from social occasions

I wonder exactly what this male friend is planning for his birthday too, that he insists he wants OP's partner to join him in Hmm

Can I roll out a newish acronym? It's one I would like to become well established as I seem to end up thinking it on every relationship-based thread I read.

AUIAWAF.

= As usual, I agree with AnyFucker. :o

*I simply pointed out that you were still here, along with all the "bored housewives"

so perhaps, your sweeping generalisation is very far from the truth*

And I said it was because I was bored at work and surfing a site with pictures of holidays or gadgets just draws attention to the fact I have nothing to do. The Boss knows. The work hasn't been signed off so there is nothing to do yet. The Boss is fine with me surfing. I just have to be subtle about it.

As for the bitching with strangers bit, DH sounds like a decent chap and apart from this birthday thing the OP appears to have no complaints about DH so how about some loyalty OP.

I bet PushyDad has gone home to the wife now, and has had to cook the dinner, and wash up, put the washing machine on, and babysit his kids. I bet she doesnt let him on the computer in the evening.

AnyFucker · 07/02/2012 20:40

that is very cruel, LeQ...
