Would love to participate but live in Ireland - where they won't accept my blood donations either due to vCJD.

I cant either because I have had cancer treatment :(

176 people have died with vcjd or suspected vcjd. The total number contaminated by blood transfusions is 4.

Is that really a good enough reason to stop potentially life saving donation of blood, bone marrow or even breast milk?

Looking at the medical exclusion reasons- they list BMI of 35 or over as excluding you from the list. Mine is currently 33.3 but only went under 35 in the last month. I intend to get down to 29- aiming to take 6-7 months- I don't know if they will accept me. Worth signing up to find out? I am very keen to help.
