I am so bored and frustrated with politely pointing out why rightwingers are wrong about everything.

If I have to read one more thread about why someone with mental health issues shouldn't have had children, or why someone made homeless should have managed better, or why the benefits cap is a good thing because Fuck the Poor, I will get out my gun and raze the boards of MN.

STOP IGNORING THE FACTS YOU RIGHTWING IGNORAMUSES AND CLIMB DOWN OUT OF YOUR OWN NARROW ARSES TO THE WORLD THAT MOST PEOPLE STRUGGLE ALONG IN.

Oh, and you're all cunts BTW.

You know, we've hd that much hate directed at the boys and at me for being a carer that we actually keep passports now so we could run if needed.

No chance of a foreign holiday (not a complaint!) but because we sometimes feel scared to be in UK.

Fab place, this.

^How many
Lefties send their check in marked to support welfare dependants ^

Errm, i earn less than 26k.
I already pay towards the welfare bill, its called tax.
I not only WORK for a charity which i opt to pay a portion of my salary back to, but volunteer with another and donate to 3 more.

what is it that YOU do for society Maypole?

ClothesOfSand · 23/01/2012 17:07

How does it work out that benefits are equivalent to £35,000 a year? Both DH and I have lost our jobs and we have 2 children. £35,000 a year before tax, when taxed, would surely be twice our current benefits.

Llanbobl · 23/01/2012 17:10

Surely a social housing crisis was caused partly by those in social housing who bought their council houses and then went on to sell them at a large profit? All the blame can't be laid at the Gov'ts feet - and New Labour didn't remove right to buy..........the desire to make a quick buck is inherent in all parts of society and across the entire political spectrum

Peachy · 23/01/2012 17:10

ClothesOf- teh variable factor is rent: that changes depending on where you are housed. Someone where we are in Wales, if theyw ere lucky enough to find a house within rent cap (which also varies regionally) is fine on £26k; in London and SE not so much. Their benefits will look higher on paper but leave them not a penny more to feed themselves or pay bills.

Maypole does plenty for society Valar: battling his stupidity on here always deals with my tiredness-related stress leaving Dh free to co-exist with me in peace.

Saw this on Twiiter and liked it:

'Every week app' 12,000 more people join the Libdemtory Dole queue whilst rich Lords & MP's argue how to make life even harder for them'

LadyBeagleEyes

Right wingers down South pay for your Socialist Utopia up there.

maypole1 · 23/01/2012 17:12

What I don't do I bemoan getting Benefits on forums and start having swearing session lol

Dawndonna · 23/01/2012 17:12

However, maypole states: Dawndonna thought so getting mad because as I thought your on benafits

We finally get their

ClothesOfSand · 23/01/2012 17:13

Thanks Peachy. I suspect ours is low in comparison because we get whatever the mortgage benefit is (if they ever get around to actually paying it) not HB.

I would have thought the best way to reduce the HB costs would be for the government to create more affordable social housing.

cinnamonnut · 23/01/2012 17:14

poloi makes a very sensible point.

maypole1 · 23/01/2012 17:14

Dawndonna thought you couldn't read my post incoherent you said

Made that out just fine didn't you Wink

DharmaLovesDraco · 23/01/2012 17:14

Fucking hell maypole did you read any of Dawndonnas post? Do you not see what she is struggling against? Or do you just not care about those in intolerable situations made worse by those in power who have managed to convince people like you that everyone claiming benefits are scroungers?

You really are a fucking twat.

Still hully shooting people is wrong

LadyBeagleEyes · 23/01/2012 17:15

Actually, I think we also pay grovel.
And as I live in the Highlands, with the most expensive fuel in the country in spite of North Sea oil I beg to differ.

ValarMorghulis · 23/01/2012 17:16

Maypole - I actually don't believe you.

I have come across you now on a few threads and to be honest ignorant just doesn't cut it. Your posts are barley coherent and are mostly bitter rantings. You sound like a child who has gleaned some minor information from newsround.

Whilst poor spelling can be forgiven and everyone has a right to express their opinions, your posts read as less ignorant and more plain stupid.

I am sure that I will be told off for saying so but you are either a spotty teen to socially inept to go out with their pals and instead stays at home winding up people who are genuinely concerned and have educated themselves in matters of importance, or you really are a completely moronic arsehole.

i am unsure as to which i would prefer

Maypole is on benefits, Working in a hospice, taking lady out each week might be voluntary. Nothing in her posts, i can see describing her paid full time position of employment.
Just lets hope IT doesn't get knocked down by a bus on that fateful Wednesday and ends up disabled! That's irony, that is!

Salmotrutta · 23/01/2012 17:22

Good grief ...

Words actually fail me now.

ValarMorghulis · 23/01/2012 17:22

I am actually disgusted at the term you have just used Maypole.

Quite frankly i would expect your removal from the boards.

you sicken me

Dawndonna · 23/01/2012 17:23

I suggest a little more reading of the boards. I think my situation is fairly well known.

Salmotrutta · 23/01/2012 17:23

That was at maypole's last post by the way

AuntLucyInPeru · 23/01/2012 17:23

This thread makes me quite sad. I would consider myself rightwing on economic policy, and a liberal on social policy. I don't hate disabled people or those for whom changed family circumstances mean dependency on benefits Sad.

I do know many who are dependant to some extent or other on state handouts (about a third of my friends and family , from a quick head-count..).

Some of them I would like to see receive more (my Grandad, for example, who only heats one room of his house); some I think should get less (my sister in law, who has only managed 12 months' work in the last 10 years, because she won't consider jobs which don't fit in with her 'dog care responsibilities').

I pay my taxes as they fall due; our company has created four jobs that wouldn't have existed without our efforts, and I top up the income of a couple of family members myself with monthly standing orders, to help them maintain a basic standard of living (all of whom have income waaay below £26kpa) where the State doesn't supply enough.

Why does that make me so repulsive you want to shoot me Confused

TwoIfBySea · 23/01/2012 17:24

YABU because by your very statement you are intending to repress the beliefs of a group of people which is rightwing enough as it is. Or leftwing actually as they don't like people to have a proper opinion either.

See how confusing it can be.

Banging your head against a brick wall only gives you a headache. Plus I'll point out that for the past few years I have raised my dts on a maximum income that still barely reaches £15,000 per year. Because I work I get no help and I still seem to manage. So I agree that people on benefits should not expect to have their lifestyle supported indefinitely.

But I also think that people who have lost their job or been made redundant should get more help and that disability shouldn't be called a benefit at all as we are meant to look after the most vulnerable in society which is something that doesn't currently happen.

If someone then stood up and said, for your opinion I think you should be shot. Well, it says a lot more about them than it does me.

Salmotrutta · 23/01/2012 17:24

That was disgusting maypole - and I almost never rise to stuff like that on here.
