I'm 9 months pregnant due on wednesday, DP broke 2 of his fingers yesterday in spectacular fashion A&E doc said 'how on earth did you manage that' break looks like an orange peel curved round it's his right hand so can't do much for himself, was at hospital from 7.30 this morning getting it fixed and xrays, he'll be off work for at least 3 weeks with a new baby and no bloody right hand plus works on bonus so money will be basic next month. I have spent the rest of the afternoon til now helping take care of my grandad who has weeks to live and is very very ill with cancer been helping my granmother clean his shit from the bed/sofa/bathroom since he has the runs and is unable to get to the loo alone infact won't even try just shits his pull ups. finally got home and need to make poor DP some decent food am shattered totally shattered mentally emotionally and physically.

My mum was supposed to be babysitting my niece for the night as she does evey weekend but since my granfather is so ill and we have relatives coming from USA tomorrow she has had to cancel. My sisters now on the phone asking me to babysit over night... my reaction was eh no to which i was told i was being selfish i'm just sitting at home anyway!! The reason sister NEEDS a babysitter tonight is because she's going round her friends with a bottle and she's already bought the bottle plus she's really hung over from last night and can't cope with a 4 yr old!!!!!!

First what happens if i go into labour during the night? second i can hardly move about i'm so huge and sore with SPD DP has no right hand so thats not helpful, I've had a shocking week trying to take care of grandad and gran running up and down to them i just want to sit on my sofa and watch mindless TV tonight i don't care if it's selfish but i'm done for the week and i refuse to feel bad for not babysitting so she can go on the piss!! GRRRRR

feel better now. Tell me IBU at your own risk lol

YANBU - not even slightly.

Try to relax this evening.

tigerlillyd02 · 21/01/2012 14:56

If you don't want to babysit then that's obviously your choice no matter what the reason. YANBU.

Dolcegusto · 21/01/2012 14:57

YANBU. What planet is your sister on?

puds11 · 21/01/2012 14:58

i cant even imagine why your sister would want to drink again if she has a hangover!
you are most definately not being unreasonable, your sister how ever is being most unreasonable!

HeyNonnyNonnyMouse · 21/01/2012 14:59

Not at all unreasonable of you! Your sister is being bloody selfish if she knows what a time you've been having of it. Stay in, put your feet up snd remember that whilst ironng would be tricky one handed, hoovering, dusting, and loading the diswasher are all easily manageable... Congratulations on your forthcoming bundle!

AnyFucker · 21/01/2012 14:59

YANBFU

FairhairedandFrustrated · 21/01/2012 14:59

YANBU. Tell sister she is a selfish arse.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 21/01/2012 15:00

YANBU. Obviously.

But [evil cackle] are you going to need her help with anything once baby is here? If so, you could earn yourself some serious brownie points by helping out?

cheekyseamonkey · 21/01/2012 15:01

YABVVVU I presume as she has a 4 year old, DSis has already reached adulthood? You should've smothered her with a pillow when she was no more than 7.

Tell her to fuck right off. Even if the only issue was that you wee 9 months pregnant, she'd be a selfish cow for asking.

(in case you didn't get it, you are actually NBU at all!)

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 21/01/2012 15:01

NBU your sister is though.

Lueji · 21/01/2012 15:02

Divorce her. Wink

Seriously, WTF is she thinking? Her baby, her responsibility, not your duty. Even if you didn't have anything else going on.

LordOfTheFlies · 21/01/2012 15:02

Does your sister help with your grandparents at all?

Your sister has a ready made baby sitter every weekend?

Shock at her attitude ( and blantant self centred entitlement)

YA so NBU. Get your feet up girl !

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 21/01/2012 15:02

My mum was supposed to be babysitting my niece for the night as she does evey weekend

[Looks around to check no-one's watching, hoiks judgy pants]

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I know it's judgy... but... Hmm

Or, maybe more honestly... Envy

kiki22 · 21/01/2012 15:04

Wouldn't ask for help from my sister in a million years so no need for brownie points, wouldn't trust her with the baby since she can't be arsed with her own.

YADBU Kiki,

By the way is this sister of yours helping out with your Grandad?

If not, you need to read her the riot act. Cheeky, cheeky article. Angry

kiki22 · 21/01/2012 15:15

scarletforya no she's not she lives an hours bus journey away so can't get over except the time she wanted to pick up her birthday pressie got over then.

mrsjay · 21/01/2012 15:20

PermanentlyOnEdge · 21/01/2012 15:28

YAmostdefinatelyNBU!

Ignore selfish entitled sister and collapse onto sofa. You have had a shit (in every sense!) time, and are about to launch yourself into the most exhausting few weeks of your life with an inconveniently injured man.

REST girl. Rest, rest, rest!

(that's an order)

kiki22 · 21/01/2012 15:36

in my jammys watching happy feet feeling slightly less murderous already

pigletmania · 21/01/2012 16:38

Yanbu tell your sister to bog off and look after her own child fir a change. Enjoy your nice quiet evening. I know the feeling, I'm 6 days overdue and just reading what you have been doing in the week makes me tireder.

anneatkins · 21/01/2012 16:48

She must, in fact, still be drunk.

Maybe you should watch her kid as a protective measure? :o (Kidding!)

You are totally NBU.

(Plus, HUGS - because your life is a right NIGHTMARE right now - power and Chocolate to you for being so fecking awesome!!)

Swimminglikeaduck · 21/01/2012 16:48

YANBU, enjoy a slobby night in!
