What a monumental abuse of trust

At the time I was called paranoid for believing that the Police had files on CND and Greenpeace members. How naive I was. And, can someone explain how we are paranoid (upthread) for distrusting authority figures but these women were supposed to know that these men were up to no good even though they were being professionally lied to?

I knew one of the officers concerned. We were part of the same community for several years. You don't know how horrifying it is until you've been there, and I say this as one of the people who was least affected out of the relevant group.

@HungryHelga, animal rights was one of the motivating factors in the assassination of Pim Fortuyn in the Netherlands a few years ago. Apart from that, animal rights activists have never killed anyone. unlike crappy data wrongly extrapolated to humans from animal studies

Quacks I'm so sorry you were caught up with this, I can't imagine how betrayed you must feel.

I spent a lot of time in the free party scene during the 90s and we were pretty sure we had undercover police amongst us, but AFAIK we never came up against this kind of thing. It's such an unforgivable betrayal.

I'm also sorry that you've had to read some of the vile comments on this thread. Those people really aren't worth paying attention to, I hope you're able to ignore them.

I'd love to ask you lots of questions, but it's only my own curiosity so I won't. I expect talking about this in a public forum when there are still legal matters unfolding probably isn't a good idea!
