StealthPolarBear · 20/01/2012 17:25

Shock no you do not
are you sure that's what was said?

hiddenhome · 20/01/2012 17:26

Anything goes on TB.

It's banned in our house because it sets ds1 (adhd/asd) off Sad

AgentZigzag · 20/01/2012 17:28

My 11 YO DD1 watches it Hmm and although I don't mind her seeing stuff with swearing in, I would be surprised at it being used at 5.20.

Especially on the Beeb! Shock

Are you sure you didn't mishear it? A poster on here reckoned Max out of the tweenies swore Grin Did he fuckers like?

CuntWorm · 20/01/2012 17:31

Nah its the bbc i think you misheard

hiddenhome · 20/01/2012 17:32

I saw a programme called 'Help, I've Lost My Head' or something like that on CBBC and it had a direct reference to hard drugs on it - referred to in a comedy manner. I was going to complain, but forgot.

OriginalJamie · 20/01/2012 17:33

I just watched it. Didn't notice that. Which character said it?

AgentZigzag · 20/01/2012 17:38

Googling it only shows shit being use as a description for the program and careworkers in it Grin

kreecherlivesupstairs · 20/01/2012 18:03

TB is banned in this house too. The way being in care is portrayed is dreadful. TB has little respect for anyone and DD began to say she wanted to be taken away from me and DH since it looked like fun in the dumping ground.
I was shocked when we went to Belgium and met a Dutch girl. All she said was shit, it was like a punctuation.
When I commented on it to a teacher friend told me that it was a mild word, less than poo for example. It doesn't make it better by the way.

TooEasilyTempted · 20/01/2012 18:09

Yanbu to expect that at 5.20pm on a children's tv programme you should not expect to hear someone say shit.

But you misheard. They didn't say any such thing.

Dartfordmummy · 20/01/2012 18:29

I hate the word fart and i've heard that in a couple of programmes recently - can't remember which ones though - definately kids ones though!!

whatsallthefuss · 20/01/2012 19:06

J Wilson is banned in our house because the woman is a hypocrite. she said on national television that the way kids speak to adults is appaling in this day and age and she does not agree with the way they act.

the interviewer pointed out that they are all copying TB! she said that just because she writes about that behaviour doesnt mean she condones it.

Evil 'ald cow. does she not understand the term role model?

RabidEchidna · 20/01/2012 19:07

The bloke on the DVD stall said he felt shit about it.
I am sure that is what I heard

OP posts:
BullieMama · 20/01/2012 19:16

TB has recently crept onto the banned list in my house, along with I Carly the attitudes of the children on both programmes are awful and I have noticed a marked change in my daughters attitude when she has watched them with the 'whatever's' and full body wiggle thing that conveys attitude in spades!

doinmummy · 21/01/2012 00:18

The word was 'sick' not 'shit'.

AgentZigzag · 21/01/2012 00:21

Is this the same OP as the other thread about it?

Maybe realised she didn't put enough stress into the threads OP? Grin

HungryHelga · 21/01/2012 00:47

They say "sucks" in kids TV programmes and that is really bad IMO.

grumpypants · 21/01/2012 00:56

Tracy beaker is vile and was banned from this house years ago. Along with j wilsoon books.

Pickgo · 21/01/2012 01:01

Shit, piss, fuck are all perfectly respectable Middle English Saxon words as it happens and you will find all three in Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.

YABVU - you are denying your children their cultural heritage.

AgentZigzag · 21/01/2012 01:03

hehe, you twat Pickgo Grin

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 21/01/2012 01:06

there's another thread about this, they deffo heard shit as well.

AgentZigzag · 21/01/2012 01:09

You wait for a thread about tracy beaker saying shit for fucking ages, and then two come along at once eh Aithch?

Kayano · 21/01/2012 01:09

Pickgo... We should all expect to hear TB refer to her 'lady garden' next week Wink

AgentZigzag · 21/01/2012 01:09

Sorry, Aitch, 't' and 'h' just go together when you're typing.

AgentZigzag · 21/01/2012 01:12

It's Grange Hill all over again isn't it?

If they're old enough to watch the content, chances are they know all their swears.

What did the other thread kick off about? There are a lot of posts compared to this one.

GinLimeandLemonade · 21/01/2012 01:36

Found it on Youtube

Still, YABU for watching Tracey Beaker Wink
