Do the posters who say 'Gavel' or 'End of.' realise they sound like morons?

Have you ever seen a thread end just after someone has written 'Gavel' or 'End of.'?

I realise some people do it ironically, but many don't.

Do the people who make threads in the wrong section of MN, just to slate the rest of MN, realise they sound like morons?

Gavel.

What is IDGAS?

I like and have never seen it other than in a jokey sense.

TheVermiciousKnid · 18/01/2012 12:44

You could use IDGAS if you really don't care about an issue ... or if you are constipated. Grin

GreenEyesAndNiceHam · 18/01/2012 12:45

Who gives a shit. Seriously?

Whatmeworry · 18/01/2012 12:47

Who gives a shit. Seriously?

GreenEyesAndNiceHam · 18/01/2012 12:48

Who, in this busy world, with all the day to day hullabaloo, WHO has room in their life to GIVE A SHIT about this stuff?

GreenEyesAndNiceHam · 18/01/2012 12:49

Exactly

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 18/01/2012 14:23

Ah, I see. Thanks TheVermiciousKnid

LadyGahGah · 18/01/2012 14:24

It is like grovel and of course that's where the image in my head comes from...but it shall remain

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/01/2012 14:31

on OP's head

BleurghUna · 18/01/2012 14:53

I hate:
vair - why not just say very?
Methinks, Tis, Twas - are we living in 1400?
and.full.stops.that.are.not.needed. when a poster thinks someone is thick.
No? at the end of a sentence- sounds vair pretentious, no?
stylee -why not just say style?
And things in should be used sparingly.
Ditto strikeout.

Proudnscary · 18/01/2012 14:57

Blimey Bleurgh - anything left we can say or do?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/01/2012 14:58

I must point out that if I use full stops in sentences i am NOT thinking someone is thick, its easy to confuse a full stop and a space on my phone keypad

crystalglasses · 18/01/2012 14:59

I still can't work out what HTH means. Can someone tell me, please

KurriKurri · 18/01/2012 15:10

I think we should all be more tolerant of others quirks.

Off for a drink now

Whatmeworry · 18/01/2012 15:13

I disagree with bleurgh and advocate the opposite.

pictish · 18/01/2012 15:15

I think people should just write whatever the fuck they want!

KurriKurri · 18/01/2012 15:16

I can fix that for you Pictish

pictish · 18/01/2012 15:21

Ta! Grin

Seriously though - fuck off with the don't-write-this, don't-write-that crap.

Write whatever you like people!

BupcakesandCuntWorms · 18/01/2012 15:29

"End of" just makes me think "yeah, you're a childish person and however good your point might have been, you've just spoiled it for yourself by pretty much stating that your word is final."

YANBU.

LadyInPink · 18/01/2012 15:40
