To think that quoting past threads/quiches on MN does not prove you aren't a troll?

You know when someone says 'name changed but not a troll - missing toaster, poo troll etc'. It doesn't really prove anything, does it? Any lurkers could read all that and still be a troll of some sort, no?

Am bored, can you tell? Grin

(That doesn't sound quite right does it?)

GlitterKitty · 18/01/2012 22:34

My cousin was Sky in Mamma Mia

LugholesTheInvisible · 18/01/2012 22:37

Who was Sky? Missed half of it due to being assaulted.

GlitterKitty · 18/01/2012 22:38

GlitterKitty · 18/01/2012 22:38

This is Very Long Juicy thread - promises much - delivers nightmares.

BrianSurgeon · 18/01/2012 22:58

Well I confess this thread fascinated me. I've learnt a lot today!

SnapSnafu · 18/01/2012 23:19

Jim Robinson is in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Shock.

I name change whenever I think I've said enough to start identifying me. I've never been able to figure out what Cod is. And have never been able to work out Boxy even when I've read the threads.

There's a woman lives across the road from me who is a mumsnetter, has no idea I know from a post she did once saying exactly where she lived if you knew this place. I feel like I'm stalking her just for knowing this.

And I confess to posting a F&B thread once just to see how long it would take to get Someone Well Known to post (was true though, I did have the F&B issue I said I had). That's not trolling, is it? Even if I do live near the Humber Bridge? I got a lovely little thrill when she posted Blush

LugholesTheInvisible · 18/01/2012 23:26

Snafu, you could never be accused of being a troll.

I have namechanged a million times and even have a new shiny persona tonight.

Not for troll or sock purposes, just to avoid RL people. Means that no-one knows me despite 9yrs of MNing - hence the invisible. A small price to pay.

Or is it?

Jux · 19/01/2012 00:20

We don't play Abba in our house.

Just so everyone knows.

FreddieMercurysBolero · 19/01/2012 00:39

I have just read this entire thing and I am exhausted! And none the wiser...Unless people think that I'm a troll and all that FM talk was just a coded conversation accusing me of sockpuppetry and stuff but then nobody really knows who I am....

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 08:47

PAGGY HAD A DATE WITH FREDDIE

sausagesandmarmelade · 19/01/2012 09:19

While I appreciate that there exist some people on forums like this who are there with malicious intent...to cause mischief, confusion and upset...there are also those 'troll hunters', 'sock puppet' hunters...who seek enjoyment and glory out of hunting out people who they think are trolls and sock puppets.

That can amount to bullying...especially when there is no concrete proof of malicious intent...and can cause absolute misery to someone who may innocently have 2 names (maybe they forgot one) or who is just being themselves. When someone is called out as a troll the damage is already done, the doubt has been sown...and people assume there is no smoke without fire.

I'm glad troll hunting is something that is frowned upon by this site....because it often (and I've seen it happen to innocent people on other forums) causes a lot of distress.

I've had more than one name on here. When I joined I couldn't decide on which name to have...and so changed it again...and again. I think this is my third. Now that's ALLOWED....that DOESN'T mean that I have ever used more than one name at a time...and it doesn't mean that I am guilty of anything other than having decided to change my name along the way.

Ok.....SOME people will assume there's no smoke without fire. I've seen that happen...with people I know for certain have been absolutely innocent and who have been hounded off forums by cruel cliques.

But, as I say....there are people who DO come onto forums with malicious intent....and who find enjoyment in taking people in. Saw such a case on another forum where someone pretended to have a baby....which died. A lot of people were taken in by that.

On here...I just comment on things I'm interested in or have an opinion on....and don't really get involved that much or care enough to assert who is real, who's messing about etc.

Is this true Hully? Or are you making stuff up again

Was Paggy Freddie's beard? Could she give me beard training for when it's my turn to be George Cloonies girlfriend?

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 09:51

ABSOLUTELY TRUE

ask her.

W0rmy · 19/01/2012 09:52

'tis true, she told me I've seen her mention it on here before.

AbsofCroissant · 19/01/2012 09:56
Shock
Hullygully · 19/01/2012 09:56

I know!

That Paggy has a dark dark past

AbsofCroissant · 19/01/2012 09:59

Erm, but how old is Pag then, as Freddy was born nearly the same year as my Mom.

I also think of Pag as being like, 35, but then she does have a DS at uni

Hullygully · 19/01/2012 09:59

hahahahahahahahaha 35 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

How old do you think I am?

BarryStar · 19/01/2012 10:01
