AIBU to want to tell her that she is a selfish brat?

I have a mum friend who is getting on my nerves.
Whenever anything needs doing - collecting a takeaway, dry cleaning, ironing, gardening, painting a room, taking and collecting DC from activities etc etc she says dismissively "oh, I'll get DH to do it" or "DH will do that".
I'm starting to think she does nothing but order him around.
I'm half jealous (that he does whatever she wants him to do) and half disgusted with her spoilt ways.
I feel a bit unreasonable to even have an opinion about it because it's their life. So am I ? :) !

None of your business.

Nixea · 13/01/2012 18:53

Utterly and totally unreasonable...in about every way!!

thisisyesterday · 13/01/2012 18:54

ooh I think you might know me Blush

FabbyChic · 13/01/2012 18:54

Bet she is overweight too. And frigid.

Groovee · 13/01/2012 18:54

YABU Grin

My dh often does those things. So much so the restaurant where we get our chinese take away from note down what dates I collect the takeaway hehe. Part of it is because I have difficulty driving at night and get tired easily.

Don't let it stress you out too much Wine

:o @ Pooka! Thought maybe I was! I'll tell her that too when she's prattling on about her DH!

AgentZigzag · 13/01/2012 18:57

I might say to my Dad that DH will pick DD up or drop him off somewhere, but that's because I don't drive and I know full well DH won't mind doing it.

Nothing to do with me ordering him about Grin

But when I say what I've done to DH, I'll ask him if he wouldn't mind picking up/dropping off.

You have no idea what's going on behind closed doors, and to be brutally honest, it's nowt to do with you!

You can tell her she's a selfish brat, but be prepared for a gob full of fist Grin

diddl · 13/01/2012 18:58

Oh me to-I don´t paint or drive.

I do garden though-but only easy light stuff.

MrsSleepy · 13/01/2012 18:59

Are you my friend? Shock

MummyAnnabella · 13/01/2012 18:59

I smell jealousy.......

KittyFane · 13/01/2012 19:00

Stewie I ask myself that too. I really don't like her so soon to be ex 'friend'. Mutually agreeable conclusion probably.

Have you no business of your own to worry about?

MrsSleepy · 13/01/2012 19:01

You sound charming Kitty

imoanruby · 13/01/2012 19:03

Why does it bother you?!!

It's not anyone else's business, surely you have no idea how her dh feels about it?

Boomerwang · 13/01/2012 19:04

I find it's better to let other couples get on with things their way and to not get involved.

KittyFane · 13/01/2012 19:05

I have an opinion on the way a person talks about their DH.
My DH does all of the above but I don't ever say 'I'll get DH to do it' as if he's there to serve me.
AIBU? Obviously yes! :)

bluddy I am irritated that she tells me about all the things she gets him to do. She tells me and I listen.
I obviously don't like her much so we shouldn't be friends.

Olympia yes :o

I like your acceptance of "unreasonability" kittyfane. Grin

Nb - I think I may actually be your friend. Not sure whether I use those exact words, but dh does do more than his fair share of evening pick ups and errands. Not sure how it's evolved that way but not complaining! I do say thank you though, cos I'm well-mannered like that. Wink

MrsSleepy · 13/01/2012 19:16

Are you jealous?

KittyFane · 13/01/2012 19:18

pooka :o I don't mind being told I'm unreasonable! If I am, I am!!

GoingForGoalWeight · 13/01/2012 19:23

Maybe your friends conversation just serves to highlight the fact, you do not feel able to expect the same asks of your DH.
