Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tiredmum, teaandcake, valiumredhead and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Aww thanks you lot

Well if nothing's happened by tomorrow I may test again Smile

Has anyone got anything exciting planned this weekend then? xx

gomummygo · 27/01/2012 19:00

Dinner party here tonight, so DS and I are doing all the prep work today. He loves guests and is looking forward to it all except wearing dress clothes. He generally likes being dressed up in his suit and tie but does not agree that we should try to keep food off of them. Hmm

Tiredmumno1 · 27/01/2012 19:44

Oooo that does sound lovely though Gomummy well except for the cleaning costs Grin what food is on the menu then?

I just want to relax tonight the boys have just gone up to bed, they will be down again Angry they must take it in turns to come down on numerous occasions for no reason, so they better not start otherwise this mean mummy may withhold any treats tomorrow, it's been a long week, I may have a nice hot soak in the bath later, I don't like disturbing Jamie when I go and have a shower in our bathroom so bath it is Grin

gomummygo · 27/01/2012 21:00

App is a bit odd - I cut pita bread into triangles, brush with olive oil & garlic and roast until a bit crispy, then put on artichoke & asiago dip, a piece of proscioutto and half a grape tomato dotted with red wine vinegar. Meal is raspberry/goat cheese spinach salad, a tiny three-cheese souffle (fingers crossed that they don't fall with DS jumping around), then main is chateaubriand as long as I don't screw up the sauce! Served on a fairly plain mash, just butter, cream and seasoning in it. Bit of a ragout with it. For dessert I have made homemade chocolates and individual cheesecakes with a blueberry/raspberry drizzle. Cheese course after a bit if anyone has room for it!

I have been eating healthily for a month and am about to blow it all! Grin And I shall enjoy it enormously.

Must be off to get changed. Instead of telling you what we're eating, I could have just taken a photo of myself and it would have been evident, LOL!

Long relaxing bath sounds lovely! Envy

Tiredmumno1 · 27/01/2012 22:13

Grin rather you than me that sounds like so much work although you will have lots of yummy food, well done you, you sound like superwoman Grin I bet you are going to have a lovely time Smile

My bath was lovely, now I am just relaxing, all the boys are sleeping now wooooo hooooo can't wait for my own bed, but feeling peckish now after all that talk of food, off to raid the cupboard Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 28/01/2012 00:36

Right I have just fed Jamie so off to my lovely bed, sweet dreams all xx

Teaandcakeplease · 28/01/2012 09:03

Hello!

I'm having an awful time with DS right now in Pre School. I can't really talk about it on fb but I have talked about it on my ante natal thread. Sad

Tiredmumno1 · 28/01/2012 12:07

Awww tea, I have replied on your thread just wanted to give ya Smile

Hope you are feeling a bit better don't let it bring you down.

Teaandcakeplease · 28/01/2012 12:22

Sitting in a soft play, drinking coffee whilst they go wild. Been here since 10. I'm ok. Feel better for typing it all out. You can reply on here, it's fine. I just didn't want to type it out twice. Lazy Grin Hmm I could've copied it. Didn't think of that. Lol

ElmoFan · 28/01/2012 12:30

Oh tea :( so sorry this is happening to you & ds Some mums still act like kids themselves & they are out of line to treat you like this Angry I agree with tiredmum - Hold your head up high and ignore their childish whispering etc
Could you ask exh to collect ds for a couple of weeks just to give you a bit of a break ?
Wish i lived nearer to offer some support in RL :( xxxx

Well one little bit of news for ya tea we are working towards moving back down there so if all is good we will be close to you so we can get to see each other yay Grin

Teaandcakeplease · 28/01/2012 14:01

Ahh now that would be nice Tiredmum, you could give her what for, for me Wink LOL

Actually I've just mooted on that thread about trying a different Pre School that has a huge outdoor area.

gomummygo · 28/01/2012 17:03

Sorry to hear you're going through that, Tea. The other mums (who were talking in the circle) sound quite rude, tbh. I know it's easy for me to say just ignore them, but I really would. Pretend you don't even notice. You are busy, can't even be bothered to pay attention to their ill-mannered behaviour.

As for DS, I've no experience of pre-school or similar, but the it certainly sounds as though the school should be keeping a close eye on things if he's being unfairly blamed.

Does DS talk enough that you could sort of have a chat with him about what is frustrating him at preschool?

Envy @ Tiredmum & Tea being able to see each other!!!

Teaandcakeplease · 28/01/2012 17:12

No his speech is poor, which is part of the problem. He talks but it's a limited vocabulary.

CheerfulYank · 28/01/2012 18:37

We used to have a little boy like that when I taught preschool. He was so lovely, I just adored him. His speech was a bit behind (he caught up by kindergarten, though) and he would get upset and push. We just made sure someone was by him...we used to say among the teachers "Who's going to stick with Devin today?" :)

They sound rude. Angry

gomummygo · 28/01/2012 19:14

Tea would SALT help? I know they do it a lot earlier here than there, so maybe that's not an option yet?

If the school could do similar to Cheerful's experience, that would probably provide him with some support in his frustration, as well as eliminating the incorrect allegations? Do you find their tone supportive?

Teaandcakeplease · 28/01/2012 21:26

Salt?

Tiredmumno1 · 28/01/2012 22:45
Grin

SALT - speech and language therapy Smile

Tiredmumno1 · 28/01/2012 23:30

Blimey a bloke over the road just got arrested for smacking his missus, there was four cop cars out there, one was parked outside our drive, bloody hell what drama Shock he has already been arrested today for GBH, twice in one day double Shock

Teaandcakeplease · 29/01/2012 07:33

He sounds charming Hmm

Is his wife ok?

Tiredmumno1 · 29/01/2012 10:26

I think so we never see them coming or going which is odd, one of the other neighbours said its normal the police know them well, it all happens when they are boozed up apparently Hmm

Tiredmumno1 · 29/01/2012 11:32
