Obviously this doesn't apply to people trying to conceive or those going through te adoption process.

Do share with us what terrible advice has been given you here by a non parent - do you want your money back?

I think the only person wanting a row is you.

I must be reading a different thread. Where has the OP said she's been given bad advice by a non parent and that's why she doesn't wnat them on here?

notveryinventive · 01/01/2012 19:03

TBH Ive often wondered how non-parents found or really bothered looking on MN, but it has never ever bothered me that there are people on here who dont have children. I think Ive wondered why non parents would come on here because it wouldnt have occured to me pre DCs, then again Im not very inventive Grin

Ive been on here mainly lurking for over 2 years now and not seen this thread before

ToothbrushThief · 01/01/2012 19:05

I took her return to be an explanation of her OP not a repeat of her question.

If someone posted on a motorcyclist forum and had never even pedalled a raleigh 5 speed I think it would be a fair question to ask what they got out of the site?

Why are people so touchy about being/not being a parent?

Pandemoniaa · 01/01/2012 19:05

It's called irony ToothbrushThief. Deep, crashing, irony.

exoticfruits · 01/01/2012 19:06

These threads start up every so often-there is always someone who wants to exclude. I think it is much, much better if you get lots of views and all should be welcome. The discussions are interesting-I can see why people would find them so.

SarahStratton · 01/01/2012 19:07

TBF 999 is posting a lot of threads. Maybe, she's just trying to get a feel of the place.

PeanutButterCupCake · 01/01/2012 19:07

sue do you want to share my gin and slimline tonic?
maryz you know you want to Grin

Ps warning.....I may do some gin fuelled crying in a while due to my childless state and feeling unwanted.

notveryinventive · 01/01/2012 19:08

Ive not read the full thread, but just wanting to know is this a troll?

Trills · 01/01/2012 19:09

Depends if people on the motorcyclist forum ever talked about anything other than their motorcycles, doesn't it ToothbrushThief?

Also, there is no equivalent to never having pedalled a bike. We all live in a world that has children in it, you'd have to be extremely reclusive to never encounter any or to never hear anyone talk about them.

Theonewiththehair · 01/01/2012 19:10

Who says you have to follow all advice anyway? If you don't like it don't use it.
If it works for you then great and it doesn't then matter where it came from does it?

mommagoestoiceland · 01/01/2012 19:13

yabu i think theres loads of information on here. and the storys arnt all about kids i have one child myself. when they grow up does that mean i cant go on mumsnetanymore?

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 01/01/2012 19:13
quirrelquarrel · 01/01/2012 19:14

Because I am self-obsessed & other people-obsessed and require a little normality of another type to deal with my type of normality (which is not so very different from yours), and because it is a link in my favourites (above this and below this) and it is all part of my pathetic little routine :)

Heleninahandcart · 01/01/2012 19:16

OP this is a bit of a non question. Why does anyone go to any forum?

Unless you posted because you think anyone who isn't a parent should not be here in which case you should have asked that instead.

yellowraincoat · 01/01/2012 19:17

It's very much female-dominated lenfercest.

mommagoestoiceland · 01/01/2012 19:17

love it quirrelquarrel Grin

missmiss · 01/01/2012 19:18

I don't have children. I am a teacher, so contribute to the education threads sometimes, but I stumbled across the site about five years ago, when I had an achingly boring job in publishing and needed something (anything!) to while away the hours. I mostly hang out on AIBU and Chat: I'm here for the banter and the cunting swearing.

exoticfruits · 01/01/2012 19:21

It is quite possible to come on and never, ever discuss DCs.

YonderRevoltingPeasantWhoIsHe · 01/01/2012 19:24

Slimline tonic .....! I've got Bailey's and full fat milk AND I'm baking.

Anyhow, what was this about again?

ReduceRecycleRegift · 01/01/2012 19:29

I like this site because there's all kinds of healthcare and childcare professionals both those who have kids and those who don't.

way better than other exclusive mums only forums where all the feedback you can get is "dnt stop doin what ur doin hun, your a brilliant mum dnt let any1 tell you otherwise, dnt listen to them doctors/midwives/teachers/healthvisitors/socialworkers they dnt no wot they're talkin about" Hmm

oiwheresthecoffee · 01/01/2012 19:31

Because i get bored and fancy a chat mainly. I like chat , and use the MH section a lot. And lurk on the cooking and pets sections.

oiwheresthecoffee · 01/01/2012 19:32

Oh and the feminism section too.

Neuroticnatty · 01/01/2012 19:35

What a silly question.
I'm new here by the way so this is my first reply to a thread!
