To tell you all about my Christmas eve miracle?

My year has been totally shit, topped off by my DP cheating and being kicked out 6 months ago, my son had to go to special school, couldn't find him childcare so list my job (should be able to find one in new year that matches transport pick up/ drop off) so I'm totally alone this Christmas with DS (5) who has ASD and has never shown any understanding of Christmas. I was feeling so down I thought I'd give DS his presents in the morning, he'd open them and that would be it.

BUT

This morning I mumbled something to DS about someone coming tonight and he looked at me, eyes all lit up and said 'Father Christmas! Down the chimney!'
I have never been so happy in all my life. I bundled DS in the car to buy lots of Christmas booze, nibbles and chocolate last minute and he told everyone he passed in tesco 'father Christmas down the chimney, present!'

Now I am engaging in the big pre-Christmas day clean and am so looking forward to DS's first proper Christmas (that he understands)

I know I'm being totally unreasonable writing a post like this here but I'm so chuffed I couldn't care less!

Fabulous OP Christmas IS magic and probably more so for a lot of special needs kids- they keep it for longer.

My mates DS is 13 now and flourishing at a special school, so much that he played THe Coventry Carol in their big service at the cathedral solo on his trumpet. I was so proud of him and I wan't even there, he was so happy.

He believed in FC till last year I think (and may still) the real highlight of the Xmas he was in year 7 was mate trying to tell him FC wasn't real to prevent any teasing. He clearly thought about this and then announced very loudy to a packed train a few days before Xmas (whilst standing and pointing to his mum) "she doesn't believe in Father Xmas........ that means SHE wont be getting ANY presents!"

Update!

He loved it. He came downstairs and said 'wow! Look at all them!' he ripped open all the presents first then went back and looked at them all and opened the boxes. He is now sat playing with his Ben 10 toys and watching Ben 10 Grin

So good so far! Smile
