I am HR administrator/training administrator/receptionist/maker of tea/office dogsbody for a growing charity and I love it. I was in banking before mat leave and had decided to never go back to the corporate rat race.

The job I'm doing atm doesn't use my full range of qualifications etc., but I bloody love it.

Threads like this always make me feel inadequate.

Keep them coming though, it's working as a kick up the bum.

shemademedoit · 19/12/2011 08:02

I've two jobs: mostly I'm a musician, and love it most of the time. Other job... A quick google would out me, so I'm keeping that to myself!

tiredfeet · 19/12/2011 08:34

I'm a solicitor working in the public sector, I earn probably 3/5 of what I would in the private sector and have far too much work to do due to the recruitment freeze, but the trade off is fulfilling work, I can work part time and 9-5, flexiblity to work from home when I need to, and scope to move to school day hours when ds is older.

Dozer I often tell people to reward themselves with flowers, I don't think we do enough!

Today I am a very angry Owl and Bird of Prey rehabilitator, tomorrow I could be SAHM or a Carer, depending on which way the wind is blowing.

BitchyHen · 19/12/2011 08:52

I'm a TA in a KS4 PRU and I love it! I like the feeling of coming away at the end of the day feeling I have been able to offer support to some young people who haven't had the best start in life. Hopefully I have been able to make a difference. And if I've had a bad day, I can just come home and not worry about it until tomorrow

nikon1968 · 19/12/2011 09:06

Part time retail........................ freelance photographer.

Caddie08 · 19/12/2011 09:09

SAHM but until this year I was a lawyer working in the city - interesting work but shocking hours not really compatible with having children at home...

harassedandherbug · 19/12/2011 09:10

I'm on ML at the moment, but normally I'm a Commercial Manager for an electrical engineering company in the entertainment industry. It's very varied and interesting, but I've pretty much had enough now tbh. To get progress further I'd have to commute to London and then it's unsociable hours.

I'm taking stock at the moment......

TheThingUpstairs · 19/12/2011 09:13

trixymalixy · 19/12/2011 09:46

I'm an actuary so even more boring than bluecat or notabanker's DH!! Wink

It's very challenging and always changing so keeps me interested. It does have its boring bits, but that's mainly down to being in a really small team and not being able to delegate the manual boring bits whereas in my previous job I just got someone more junior to do the bits I didn't like!!
