Gordon Brown that is, at least he was qualified and knew what he was doing... Ok, I do have a bit of a crush, but I am trying to be objective...:)

Cameron, Clegg and Milliband are a joke...

Osbourne really is a t**t IMO. He doesn't seem to have a grip on things at all.

I find it amazing how many people blame Gordon Brown, yet kept their mouths shut when they were gaining from the boom from bigger house prices and high earnings. We bought our first house in the last recession for 27000, there still nowhere near that low price now and that was the with the last conservative government.

MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:10

Cameron is arrogant, couldn't care less about europe, the world and all the people who need support on the uk. He's acting like a public school boy... Oh wait, that's what he is, only he's playing a big boys game. Osbourne and cameron are way out of their depth.

Oh thank goodness! I thought I was the only person in the world who loved GB (in a sensible adult way, of course).

I will always love him as his child tax credits gave me money at a time when dh was being a complete dick and using money as a way of controlling me. I'm sure I'm not the only woman who was given back a little bit of power through tax credits.

MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:15

faabychic I am behaving and fully awake as far as I am aware...

oh bringing back gordon would be great

YABU about the crush tho Xmas Grin

MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:16

Brown made an effort to encourage equality. Cameron doesn't even know the word exists.

If it weren't for Gordon Brown's tax credits I would not have survived as a lone parent when my ExH fucked off.

MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:19

Brown had a conscious and a social responsibility, he feel into the same traps as the rest of the Europe. But at least he tried to help. Cameron just has no conscious IMO.

mrshess · 14/12/2011 22:22

I honestly believe Gordon cared about the people and wanted to make a difference, I dont think anyone could say that about Cameron

troisgarcons · 14/12/2011 22:23

We can all be equal the bottom of the pile.

BUT .... Brown, for his faults was actually a decent man. He was totally stiched up and left a poisoned chalice by Blair.......BUT he was a total fuckwit as chancellor (gold reserves spring to mind).... I think he was a compassionate man - I'd never vote for him though. Hated his policies.

MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:24

Completely agree mrshess, that's what I'm gettig at... He had principles.

WhatGoodIsThis · 14/12/2011 22:24

YAB completely U!
The man is clever but completely inept.

And as for having a crush on him... [shudder]

MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:29

whatgoodisthis, how could he be completely inept? He was primeminster, that statement makes 99.9% of the country inept and Cameron/obsborne completely redundant.

OP posts:
applecrumbleandcream · 14/12/2011 22:29

YABU to have a crush on GB!!

However YANBU to think this current lot (who weren't even voted in on a majority vote) are a joke!!!

WhatGoodIsThis · 14/12/2011 22:30

Mangomonster, what reasoning have you used to conclude that 99.9% of the country is inept?

MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:31

What and see... Cameron and osbourne are sending us all to the dogs with their arrogance and lack of expertise :(

OP posts:
MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:31

Inept at running the country, based on your comment that brown was inept.

OP posts:
MangoMonster · 14/12/2011 22:34

Apparently, we are hoping for snow to save our economy?!?!

BootyMum · 14/12/2011 22:34

YANBU.

Also love Gordon and feel he was a decent and honest man for all his alleged faults, black moods and the like.

Would feel the UK was in safer economic hands with him at the helm rather that giggling schoolboy George.

NotTheBlinkingGruffaloAgain · 14/12/2011 22:35

I like Gordon too- he cared about the likes of me

WhatGoodIsThis · 14/12/2011 22:35

Well, certainly the vast majority of the population (yes, including me) would be pretty much hopeless at running the country. Your point being?

Brown was chancellor for a decade, a decade during which the global economy and the UK economy in particular was positively booming. Yet he failed to prepare for bad times, kept spending money that the country didn't have. He even had the audacity to claim that he'd personally put an end to boom and bust! what a fool. He believed his own PR and then (and this is what really riles me) he turned around and claimed it wasn't his fault that it had all gone pear-shaped. You can't have it both ways - so you can't claim that you're responsible for the good times and then deny responsibility when things turn sour.

jellybeans · 14/12/2011 22:36

YANBU I didn't like GB but you never know what you had till its gone! I would rather have GB back than this lot of tossers!

WhatGoodIsThis · 14/12/2011 22:36

sorry, that was to Mango monster. good name, btw!
