To want tell someone about DP's bonus and pay rise?

I know I shouldn't as everyone is struggling financially at the moment!
But we've had our fair share of money probs lately where it has literally kept me awake at night but DP just came home to tell me his boss has given him a big xmas bonus and a big pay rise in January!!! He bloody deserves it too! He's worked his guts out and contributed to keeping the business going!
His boss has asked him to keep it quiet as not everyone is getting a bonus or pay rise!
Im having a bloody good drink tonight to celebrate!

My DH got a big back payment a few months ago, we were over the moon as we got to pay off almost all our debts in one go, but kept it quiet to avoid the looks from acquaintances (we told a couple of good friends and they were thrilled for us). We wanted to shout it from the rooftops!

We have JUST found out that DH overpaid his taxes last year by almost £2000 and we have a refund! Christmas will be good this year

That is great news. I understand the AIBU part though, DH has had a very good year this year (self employed) and I am often a bit scared to tell people as most other people I know have had major worries... but y'know, I don't feel guilty, when I think of all the years that were shit and it appeared everyone else was fine, I could still be happy for them.

Well done! DH as had similar news, I think it's actually quite wide spread but journalists only like doom and gloom stories and competitive misery and jealousy seem to be everywhere.
