Sals interesting thread of a few days ago made me think of the things MN brings out in you (I've taken off the 'not very nice' bit of Sals title, because I'm sure you're all lovely, lovely people so can only hope some of the more abrasive posters will spill )

It's not too bad, but I do skim read more than I should and so end up either getting the wrong end of the stick or missing out a crucial point of the OP Blush

I try not to indulge in drunken posting, but maybe don't try hard enough sometimes Grin and unlike a night out at the pub the hard evidence Never. Goes. Away.

I make much more of an effort to stay away from MN if I'm in an arse, it's sometimes be a bit too easy to dump on some poor unsuspecting OP for asking a stoopid question thinking they can have a nice chat on AIBU asking about their MIL.

AIBU to think MN drags everyone down to plumb the depths?

Yup, 'fraid so ... Come on down, though ... It's nice here in the dark ( sinister grin emoticon )

WorraLiberty · 01/12/2011 15:46

I try to control the urge to point out a thread subject has been done 1000 times before....even though sometimes I want to shout it at the screen Grin

It's not fair on newbies and anyway, it's not their fault I spend too much time here Blush

NoOnesGoingToEatYourMincePies · 01/12/2011 15:49

I have started saying "You are being unreasonable" to people all the time, everywhere, even to the dog/

NoOnesGoingToEatYourMincePies · 01/12/2011 15:50

or even dog.

AgentZigzag · 01/12/2011 15:51

I called DD1 'DD1' last night MincePies

Everyone in my life is either U or NU now. It's a terrible affliction.

LineRunnerSolsticeLover · 01/12/2011 15:58

I found myself today italicising - or rather, attempting to italicise - a word in an academic piece of writing thus: word . Utter fuckwittery. I stared at it for ages before I worked out that I was posting too much and with too much stress on MN.

LeBOF · 01/12/2011 15:58

I have a horrible habit of jumping in with something facetious if the thread is really new and has a double-engender in the title, just to get my smart-arsed remark in before anybody else does. It is often only afterwards that I register the thread is a heartfelt post in Bereavement or Mental Health Blush

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/12/2011 15:59

And crossing out. I hate using brackets instead. Angry

SinicalSal · 01/12/2011 16:00

DH calls the children DD1 etc. he has never been on MN in his life though sometimes I show him a funny thread.

Well I think he doesn't come on, anyway

AgentZigzag · 01/12/2011 16:01

'Double-entendre'? LeB? Grin

Spellchecker?

OP posts:
LeBOF · 01/12/2011 16:05

Haha, bloody auto-correct Grin

FunnysInTheGarden · 01/12/2011 16:07

BOF that made me laugh. These days I really try not to argue with anyone or get too involved and also not to post if I am in a bad mood. Although it can be quite cathartic................and I also quite enjoy needling folk who deserve it.

JingleBelleDameSansMerci · 01/12/2011 16:08

I spend more time on here when I am in a bad mood... Grin

KatieScarlett2833 · 01/12/2011 16:08

I have an unnerving habit of singing "cocklodger" to the tune of "Rock Lobster" whenever someone tells me about a vile man.

However, I defend my usage of "nice ham" as I was banging on about that since 95. "No DD we are not buying Billy Bear ham (ewwwwwww) we eat nice ham in this house"

StaceymAloneForver · 01/12/2011 16:14

i too have called dd....dd Blush she looked at me like i was mental!

WhereMyMilk · 01/12/2011 16:17

My friends all think I invented the phrase "I'm sorry but that doesn't work for me" plus, "no, is a complete sentence" and "wow, did you mean that to be rude..." I haven't put them straight, no siree
Have also caught myself asking my DH if IWBU![shocked]
And told someone their not so "D" H was being a twunt and a cock lodgerBlush

ViviPrudolf · 01/12/2011 16:18

MN brings out the big boasty boaster in me. No clue why. I'm really very understated IRL.

fuzzynavel · 01/12/2011 16:20

On here far too much during the day as works soul destroyingly boring.

Going through a bit of a rough patch with DP at the moment and trying to decide who the abuser, him, me both or neither Confused Smile

LineRunnerSolsticeLover · 01/12/2011 16:20

My kids want to know why I've started saying 'knobber.'

LeBOF · 01/12/2011 16:21

You know the sort of thing I mean though: you see it in Active Convos, the title that says "I just don't think I can pull this off any more Sad- sorry it's long", and you can't resist chipping in with "Don't apologise to me, love- have you tried lube?", then it turns out to be somebody who doesn't feel able to keep a brave face at a funeral of something. Awful. I am a horrible person.

SinicalSal · 01/12/2011 16:25

i'm a bit like that too Bof, making smart alec remarks to thread titles

Hullygully · 01/12/2011 16:27

That is DISCUSTING bof and sal. You should be ashamed and repentant.

AgentZigzag · 01/12/2011 16:29

I resisted going on a thread yesterday to tell the OP I thought her 'to speak to the headmaster' title read 'to spank the headmaster' LeB, I wondered if their relationship was as professional as it should be Grin

Have you got a thread about it fuzzy?

fuzzynavel · 01/12/2011 16:32

Far to scared to have one of those Agent Smile
