Sals interesting thread of a few days ago made me think of the things MN brings out in you (I've taken off the 'not very nice' bit of Sals title, because I'm sure you're all lovely, lovely people so can only hope some of the more abrasive posters will spill )

It's not too bad, but I do skim read more than I should and so end up either getting the wrong end of the stick or missing out a crucial point of the OP Blush

I try not to indulge in drunken posting, but maybe don't try hard enough sometimes Grin and unlike a night out at the pub the hard evidence Never. Goes. Away.

I make much more of an effort to stay away from MN if I'm in an arse, it's sometimes be a bit too easy to dump on some poor unsuspecting OP for asking a stoopid question thinking they can have a nice chat on AIBU asking about their MIL.

AIBU to think MN drags everyone down to plumb the depths?

following on from each other

JamieComeHome · 01/12/2011 18:34

Also, I can sound quite patronising sometimes.

northernwreck · 01/12/2011 18:37

I've got a flat cap and a whippet on MN.

northernwreck · 01/12/2011 18:38

Grin @jamie

I've started calling people cunts.

No, wait, I did that before.

I spend far too much time on't Internet.

No, wait, I did that before.

I have become very snobby about ham.

No, wait, I was like that before.

Fuck.

I'm screwed.

That's OK, BeerTricks. You probably can't help it

As in RL I talk too much.

I am in awe of those MNer's who are mistresses of the short pithy post.

northernwreck · 01/12/2011 18:59

I am secretly really snobby and judge people on their user names.
If the poster is called something like mumma2 I think they can have nothing interesting to tell me.
[shame]

northernwreck · 01/12/2011 19:00

I mean Blush

Proudnscary · 01/12/2011 19:03

Northern - I just assume they are Daily Mail journos with no imagination

GreenIceAndChristmasHam · 01/12/2011 19:06

I think about 95% of my posts have a crap joke in them Blush

I just can't help myself, sometimes I even realise before I press send that it's naff but I still post it.

I'm not like this in RL (ok maybe a bit), like a saddo old clown

KatieScarlett2833 · 01/12/2011 19:09

Oh, just remembered another one.

people who write paragraphs and paragraphs of prose while neglecting to use any full stops capital letters or punctuation really drive me insane when they ramble on and on as though they are just vomiting their words out on to a screen typos and bad spelling dont have that effect funnily enough just those who make reading their posts an utter chore and usually i give up after the first couple of rows anyway anyhoo i usually think they are a bit thick and get annoyed for the headache i invariably get afterwards they could be writing shakespere and it wouldn't matter id still think stop it you thicko

marzipananimal · 01/12/2011 19:24

MN has made me much more sweary Blush

And I am usually fairly inane and mild mannered on here but at times I feel an urge to explode with rage and shout at everyone (when they ABU) but so far I have controlled it. If I ever do it, i will then have to namechange, and I cba to think of a new name

LadyBeagleBaublesAndBells · 01/12/2011 19:42

Oh Yes, Katie.
I can't read these posts, I can't even skim read them.
Even yours strained my brain but I'll let you get away with it because you were Making A Point.Grin

SayYuleNowSayWhipTheReindeer · 01/12/2011 19:49

Katie your post made my head hurt :( Please don't do it again.

Trills · 01/12/2011 20:04

I didn't read it.

JingleBelleDameSansMerci · 01/12/2011 20:09

Neither did I.

Proudnscary · 01/12/2011 20:11

I got told off for requesting grammar/punctuation/paragraphs yesterday

ExquisiteChristmasCake · 01/12/2011 20:21

I've become far more aware of (social) class division. and judge people for it.

AgentZigzag · 01/12/2011 20:22

I skim read the first bit of Katies paragraph Grin

But I will plough through a block of text if the OP's upset and whatever she's trying to get off her chest just came randomly tumbling out.

Sometimes it can take a lot to post a problem that means something to you.

OP posts:
Whatmeworry · 01/12/2011 20:25

I wish I could hear people's accents and despise them like a true English person

CotherMuckingFunticalChristmas · 01/12/2011 20:38

I speed read a lot so if a sentence is boring me I skip it go onto the next capital letter. Kind of fucks it up if there isn't one.

If I'm on MN and FB at the same time I find myself being much more sarcastic to people who don't know me well enough to 'get me'on FB. Gets me into trouble.
