Sals interesting thread of a few days ago made me think of the things MN brings out in you (I've taken off the 'not very nice' bit of Sals title, because I'm sure you're all lovely, lovely people so can only hope some of the more abrasive posters will spill )

It's not too bad, but I do skim read more than I should and so end up either getting the wrong end of the stick or missing out a crucial point of the OP Blush

I try not to indulge in drunken posting, but maybe don't try hard enough sometimes Grin and unlike a night out at the pub the hard evidence Never. Goes. Away.

I make much more of an effort to stay away from MN if I'm in an arse, it's sometimes be a bit too easy to dump on some poor unsuspecting OP for asking a stoopid question thinking they can have a nice chat on AIBU asking about their MIL.

AIBU to think MN drags everyone down to plumb the depths?

too Blush

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 01/12/2011 16:35

Grin at lebof
my DH is becoming mightily sick of hearing me say ' well on MN today.....' but then he is a cock lodger (arf, not really) who is so damn busy it's 9.00pm every night before he sits down with me.. busy doing what I would love to know... it certainly does not involve a hoover or washing machine Confused

Trills · 01/12/2011 16:40

This is why I have Bereavement and Mental Health hidden - makes it less likely that my sarky comments will end up in a bad place.

FunnysInTheGarden · 01/12/2011 16:41

oh go on Fuzzy then LeBof can jump in and really put her hoof in it.

YULEingFanjo · 01/12/2011 16:48

I am a terrible terrible trollhunter. I do loads of searches on user names but I try really hard not to trollhunt in threads- ie I wait for someone else to call troll!

I am deliberately not saying anything about the in-laws (nice or not) since my posts were emailed to a member of my DH's family by someone here.

ChrisMsBrian · 01/12/2011 16:53

MN made me sweary to the point where DP (who is a delicate flower) takes offence Blush (I hasten to add I'm not swearing at him!)

ChrisMsBrian · 01/12/2011 16:54

Oh and I have a few things that go round and round and round in my head that I would LOVE to start a thread about, but am too scared :(

ViviPrudolf · 01/12/2011 16:55

YULE Shock That would be unspeakably mortifying. I try and curb the PiLbashing for that very (hopefully unlikely) reason but it is a struggle.

Did an almighty shitstorm ensue?

ChrisMsBrian · 01/12/2011 16:57

Shock @ YULE - see? that scares the heck out of me!

AgentZigzag · 01/12/2011 16:58

Shock at the MN/RL cross over you had Fanjo, how did they take your posts? And what did they think of the idiot person who posted them?

I have things that go round my head as well Chris, that must mean they should be posted about doesn't it?

I'm going to have one night when I start them all, on the relevant boards of course Grin

OP posts:
ChrisMsBrian · 01/12/2011 17:10

Of course. Imagine the flaming otherwise! Shock

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 01/12/2011 17:13

Agent imagine if you accidently on purpose mixed them all up?

AgentZigzag · 01/12/2011 17:19

Mmmm that would get the thread police some posters hot under the collar wouldn't it Solomum? Grin

YULEingFanjo · 01/12/2011 17:21

"Did an almighty shitstorm ensue"

it set off a chain of events which resulted in a shitstorm. Actually, what I posted wasn't terribly bad at all and it was only a couple of posts among a load of very nice ones (I like my in-laws mostly) but I am still pretty fed-up that someone bothered to send links of what I said to other people :( I shouldn't be talking about it though - they may be reading. I joked at the time that 'I can't even start an 'am I being unreasonable' thread about it Grin

Shock that's unbelieveably shocking fanjo.

LadyBeagleBaublesAndBells · 01/12/2011 17:50

I'm with Fanjo re the troll spotting.
I'll think 'hmm this is a bit odd' and look on search, and I have to say I'm usually right.
But I never call troll on threads unless somebody else does as I know I just might be wrong, and of course it's against MN guidelines.

ViviPrudolf · 01/12/2011 17:54

Gosh, Fanjo, what a snipey little rotter to go round telling tales and sending links Sad

ViviPrudolf · 01/12/2011 17:55

rein not reign. Gosh that superiority complex of mine surfaces far too often Blush

AgentZigzag · 01/12/2011 17:56

Is it wrong to find a good barney on a thread stimulating?

I may call you all cunts if anyone says yes though, s'be warned.

Whatmeworry · 01/12/2011 18:26

There are so many people here who are just wrong dammit :o

And. must. not. call. the. trolls.

JamieComeHome · 01/12/2011 18:31

I press post too quickly in my rush to post my genius ramblings, then forget half of what I wanted to say

JamieComeHome · 01/12/2011 18:31

so I end up psoting 3, 4 or even
