be hurtful to anyone left out.

And unfortunately, because of the large numbers of MNers, there are inevitably going to be lots of lovely lovely posters who don't get a mention. (btw, I would love to have a Brew with all those who kindly mentioned me, annd loads more too).

I'm loved! I'm loved!

So long, suckers...

Psammead · 21/11/2011 18:37

I do Advanced Search myself from time to time, like MissPenteuth. That's because I post an awful lot some days and I forget where, and then don't post for a while. So I know if someone has replied to me or commented on something I said.

MardyBra · 21/11/2011 18:38

Yes, just checked. Cheerful Yank WLTM you.

Psammead · 21/11/2011 18:39

Oh she's a peach. I would meet her too.

I think this is detracting from the Fred.

Moln · 21/11/2011 18:43

Haven't read it, not even tempted to as I can only imagine, based on posting on another much smaller parenting (not in screen size but numbers!) that it just turns into a 'oooh i'm so popular, cry with happiness it's such an achievement (some how)' kind of thing

Isn't there about a squillion member here? I'd rather not be noticeable as that would mean one of two things:

  1. I spend too much time here. Possibly to the extent I'm eating into time I should spend in the 'real world'
  2. I post things that stand out enough for my name to be remembered. Which more than likely would not be in a good way

I have to say there are some members who I've noticed that'd I'd hope to never ever meet as they seem quite horrible human beings. (not of whom have posted on this thread so far)

rycooler · 21/11/2011 18:45

what's the problem?
someone starts a thread asking which m'netters you'd like to meet in RL and people reply - and - guess what, the world doesn't end.
There's quite a few m'netters I wouldn't meet if you paid me ( a few on this thread actually)

Get a grip.

JamieComeHome · 21/11/2011 18:45

Phew Moln

I do agree that you have to put the time in here to be remembered. Or be a complete beeatch

now now ry. There are only 4 pages so that narrows it a bit

Hullygully · 21/11/2011 18:46

I said everyone

because I agree, can be hurtful

AngryFeet · 21/11/2011 18:46

I have never read one tbh. Doubt I have been mentioned but it doesn't mean anything to me. I come on here to have a laugh and get info on things. If I make friends that will be through actually meeting people face to face. You can't really get the measure of a person from words on a screen. Plus I already think I am amazing - don't need anyone else to validate me Wink

FabbyChic · 21/11/2011 18:47

I dont know every poster but there are a few that stand out for me, you can't knock people for not recognising a user name.

I fail to see how anybody could be upset by not getting a mention on a who would you like to meet thread.

Maybe that tells you your posting style is normal, i.e doesnt stand out, you dont leave a mark.

Some personalities are quiet in nature and wouldn't be noticed.

MardyBra · 21/11/2011 18:48

I'm guessing I'm off ry's Christmas card list.

YABU.

This is the only place in the world where I'm popular and I intend to enjoy my notoriety.

Only joking. Wink I didn't get a mention at all.

But come on - there are bigger things in life than being popular on an internet forum, surely.

PlumpDogPillionaire · 21/11/2011 18:57

Is this thread an excuse for MN big fish to gloat patronising at those of us with our spotty paupers' faces squashed against the icy windows of the MN popularity lounge?

Like we're bovvered, y'know?

MardyBra · 21/11/2011 18:58

I agree that there are bigger things in life. But it seems to bother some people, but not others.

OP posts:
MardyBra · 21/11/2011 19:02

The MN popularity lounge. I wonder what that's like? I imagine it being like a club class airport lounge with the stylish decor, free booze - and maybe some 60s style swinging seats which hang from the ceiling.

OP posts:
Psammead · 21/11/2011 19:05

No, no, it's a Farrow and Ball tastefully decorated sitting room with tea and crumpets.

Moln · 21/11/2011 19:10

Free booze and swinging seats?

Darn it - now I do want to be on the popular list

SarahStratton · 21/11/2011 19:10

Naice cake, and proper teacups and saucers.

MissPenteuth · 21/11/2011 19:11

I bet it's actually full of twigs and pebbly shit and they eat Greggs' sausage rolls and Pom Bears and drink Froot Shoots.

Psammead · 21/11/2011 19:11

And the good tablecloth.

MardyBra · 21/11/2011 19:11

Now now MissP!

Psammead · 21/11/2011 19:12

and those hanging seats? Sex swings, the dirty buggers.
