be hurtful to anyone left out.

And unfortunately, because of the large numbers of MNers, there are inevitably going to be lots of lovely lovely posters who don't get a mention. (btw, I would love to have a Brew with all those who kindly mentioned me, annd loads more too).

OP posts:
cheeptrick · 21/11/2011 21:02

I find it all too much school playgroundish tbh.

Arachnophobic · 21/11/2011 21:04

What cheep trick said.

Actually can I not tar the cliques regulars with the same brush? There is a regular here who is always constructive and helpful.....can't remember her name.....

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2011 21:05

You need a job where you can go on MN at work Wink

Arachnophobic · 21/11/2011 21:07

Or a job being the mod at MN? Grin

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2011 21:07

Seriously though, your argument is pish. I have been named (not on last thread though) and work and also meet friends most days, but MN in between.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2011 21:08

Being a mod at MN would be cool though, I'll give you that Grin

pish

I am not on here enough to know what that means.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2011 21:10

Yes I said I have been named now kiss my feet everyone Grin

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2011 21:11

Pish is Scots, not an MNism

Arachnophobic · 21/11/2011 21:13

What does it mean?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2011 21:15

Err it means 'not very good'

Arachnophobic · 21/11/2011 21:36

It's Worral whom I was referring to.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 21/11/2011 21:38

Oh, I'll let you off then Wink

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 21/11/2011 23:00

I know what you mean, OP, it starts off all light-hearted but it's so easy to miss many, many posters that you really like off a list... and sometimes that can rub a bit.

I've posted alongside many who grate on me and I'm sure I grate on many myself, but I've not found one yet that I don't like and wouldn't want to meet (if I wanted to meet anybody).

I do think that Worra is fab and well-deserving of her new title as 'Queen of MN'... Grin

Proudnscary · 22/11/2011 06:58

Stealth boasting + patronising = this thread.

Goodbye cruel world of favourite MNetters!!!

FellatioNelson · 22/11/2011 07:00

'Is this thread an excuse for MN big fish to gloat patronising at those of us with our spotty paupers' faces squashed against the icy windows of the MN popularity lounge?'

That is very funny. Grin

KatieMiddIeton · 22/11/2011 07:14

Those threads don't bother me. It's just a bit of fun. If someone is upset because someone on the web doesn't expressly mention they want to meet them in person that's a bit odd to me.

But I just like titting about on here and quite often I'll recognise a name and think "they're fun" "I like her" or "she's sensible and gives good advice" but I don't really want to meet in RL. What if I they were disappointing?

Also knowing me I'd get mixed up and confuse familiarity of a name with like or not be able to remember names any way.

Proudnscary · 22/11/2011 07:21

As I said up thread, the stealth boasting clue was in the OP with Mardy making sure she thanked 'all those' ('all'!!) who mentioned her - while throwing a pity party for those who weren't name checked! Priceless. You should have drip fed Mardy - schoolgirl error.

Actually this thread and the other is making me feel a lot less respect for the posters who I do 'recognise' and 'like' on here. I enjoy the razor sharp wit of many - but when you associate them with this boarding school drivel, it suddenly seems like competitive posting. For example LeQueen's (I paraphrase) 'the popular posters aren't even trying to be popular and don't even care'. Cringe.

Really really really going now.

Proudnscary · 22/11/2011 07:21

Wow my 'all' has wings!

exoticfruits · 22/11/2011 07:23

That sums up my feelings KatieMiddleIeton.

callmemrs · 22/11/2011 07:37

Have only skimmed the thread so this may have already been said but ive always assumed it's an insecurity thing: it's so junior school playground. 'i want to be in your gang; please be my bestest friend, you're so wonderful' type thing.

Really dull and I agree at worst could be divisive if people take it seriously

Thistledew · 22/11/2011 07:37

I actually quite like those lists. I have only bothered to look at one or two, and having never found my name mentioned can feel satisfied that my RL is too busy and engaging for me to have time to build up a proper MN 'presence'.

KatieMiddIeton · 22/11/2011 07:40
KatieMiddIeton · 22/11/2011 07:42

I did have a snurk at the "What about those less fortunate? Not me obviously. I am vair popular. Thank you, thank you all. I hadn't prepared a speech... but here's just a little thread I threw together. For the fans" tone of the OP Grin
