A thread on mums net to settle an argument about mumsnet...
DH thinks that if a man is on mumsnet then he must have an ulterior motive, to chat up 'mums' - he wants me to add that he thinks they must be devious. I think, perhaps naively that there are probably some genuine male parents, aka dads, wishing to discuss parenting issues. DH believes men should be on dadsnet.

there are. i have knowingly spoken to several men on here and got no indication whatsoever that their questions about primary education, shared parenting or feminist issues were in anyway them trying to secure a date for the weekend.

i am guessing i have also unknowingly had discussions with male posters as i dont tend to ask what sex every poster is befire i engage. no-one has asked me out yet and i've been here 3 years.

I think generally it's just safer flirting with women. With the blokes, you never know how seriousy they might take it, and then it might get awkward.
