AIBU to think that ending your emails with "peace out" makes you a twat?

Someone I have to deal with re: work always ends her emails with "peace out, her-first-name".

WTF, have we suddenly been transported back to the 70s???

Or even worse, "namaste, her-first-name" with a twattish little apostrophe at the end of "namaste". Namaste is Sanskrit, not fucking French. There is no accent aigu on the final e.

And these are professional communications, not two yoga teachers emailing each other.

FFS.

BTW I do have a life, I have lots of other things to be concerned about, no, this is not a big deal, in fact it's trivial as shit, but it's bugging me. :o

Off the Twattery scale and how you can resist pointing this out to her is a mystery to me!

Magneto · 09/11/2011 17:45

Someone I work with ends all their emails with "No dramaz" aaarrrggghhh!!!!!

squeakytoy · 09/11/2011 17:45

I would be tempted to reply

Peace Off

But thats just me Grin

2BoysTooLoud · 09/11/2011 17:47

ooh cringe making!!
However I am still in a quandary on how to end emails and even start them sometimes. I'm a bit formal a lot of the time re emails and my dh laughs at me using for 'Dear' a lot instead of 'Hi'. Not keen on 'kind regards', certainly wouldn't 'peace out'!!

I like it! I may pinch it. Is she doing it for her amusement to brighten up dull work emails?

MercyDulbottle · 09/11/2011 18:00

Ha. A colleague used to sign hers 'Love, Laughter and Light'.

Until management tol her to stop it.

catgirl1976 · 09/11/2011 18:01

I'd fire her

BeyondThePail · 09/11/2011 18:02

Mumsnet sign their emails off with

"Take care. Eat biscuits."

squeakytoy · 09/11/2011 18:02

I always found "regards" was the safest and most neutral way to end any emails... not always "kind" ones either... :)

ShockinHolyTempers · 09/11/2011 18:02

YANBU

Do her bosses know she's doing this? Hmm

said · 09/11/2011 18:03

"Until management tol her to stop it." - that's the red rag isn't it? How to subvert humourless management diktats without them noticing. Grin

2BoysTooLoud · 09/11/2011 18:04

Is 'best wishes' ok or too greetings cardy?

SauvignonBlanche · 09/11/2011 18:08

YANBU - I'd have to stop e-mailing her!

ColdSancerre · 09/11/2011 18:16

I'd fire her, I'd fire The 'no dramaz' person too.

We have someone who sends a regular weekly email and !!!!!!!!! in it. Every week !!!!!!!! There were 22 one week, in a one line email.

MeconiumHappens · 09/11/2011 18:30
